My UK Hip Story. The story of my hip dysplasia, and the Periacetabular Osteotomy Surgeries to correct it. Tuesday, 17 April 2012. A long overdue update. Ooops can't believe how bad I have been at updating this blog! Well I had a very successful post-op appointment in February, everything going well and surgeon was impressed with strength and ROM. I have been cleared of all restrictions and don't need to see him again until next year. So, have just 3 goals left to complete this year,;. 19 July 2013 at 23:21.

My UK Hip Story. The story of my hip dysplasia, and the Periacetabular Osteotomy Surgeries to correct it. Tuesday, 28 December 2010. After a couple of days all post-op soreness was gone and I was walking as normal. Incision is only a couple of cms and glued not stitched. At the same time Mr Witt reviewed my other hip, and agreed ,once he has double checked my scans, to book my LPAO -so it looks like as righties journey comes to an end, around 2 years later lefties will begin. My UK Hip Story. The story of my hip dysplasia, and the Periacetabular Osteotomy Surgeries to correct it. Friday, 21 January 2011. Round 2.countdown to LPAO begins. LPAO booked for 19th April! I'm not sure if its easier knowing what to expect or not. At least I don't have the fear of the unknown, or the worry about how painful it will be because I know it will be well controlled, however there are a few memories I wish I didn't have! What Does Pain Look Like?: August 2011
http://whatdoespainlooklike.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 10 August 2011. 6 weeks, now walk. At last, 6 weeks is up! Right, now what? 6 weeks feels so long when you're on two elbow crutches. But I can now drop to one according to the letter I received from Mr. O a week out of hospital. I've been wandering around the house on one crutch and instantly I feel so liberated! Ermy leg moved outwards lol, but more importantly, I felt it in my butt where you should be feeling it. That was new! Let's get walking :o). Links to this post. It seems life threw me...

What Does Pain Look Like?: Officially bored
http://whatdoespainlooklike.blogspot.com/2011/07/officially-bored.html
Friday, 22 July 2011. It's official. I'm now bored and restless and I don't want to sit on my ass anymore! So that's been 3 weeks off work, at home, on my ass to get to this state of mind. 3 weeks. I have actually been doing some work from home so I don't feel unproductive. I can't focus on work today. It's just the lack of change of scenery! Or maybe it's too little too late? We're even going out tomorrow night for birthday celebrations and I can't shake this horrid cabin fever feeling! Periacetabular O...

Combined Reverse Periacetabular Osteotomy (PAO) and Open Debridement Surgery and now Total Hip Replacement too! Tuesday, 13 December 2011. A year and a shiny new hip! Well that turned out to not be the final surgery by any means. Unfortunately the groin pain returned with avengance around January 2011. After a series of steroid injections over 10 weeks with reducing benefit, I was referred to a different surgeon in the group (Mr Norton) for an arthroscopy to remove likely scar tissue. Good to read that s...

Ahh it was all going well. getting rid of the crutches for short distances, even some longer hobbles, (or wobbles as I currently walk with a certain weebleness about me! I’ve tried massaging, stretching, heat, ice and painkillers, oh and some rest which seems to be the best medicine, but doesn’t work as quickly as I want it to! Should I have crutches any more? Hobbling Helly’s Weblog. Ramblings of a girl with Hip Dysplasia awaiting PAO. It’s been a while. Labour, baby wearing and hips. It’s been a while…. Since I last posted things have been busier, more sleep deprived and a lot of fun. Over 16 months ago now (and yes time flies at a rate of knots you never thought possible) our beautiful little girl arrived in the world. Now I could bang on about the experience of babies; the good, the bad and the smelly but this is a hip dysplasia blog so I will resist.

Hobbling Helly’s Weblog. Ramblings of a girl with Hip Dysplasia awaiting PAO. It’s been a while. Almost a year on. In the blogging world I’ve been AWOL for some time, not intentionally it’s just that when you get back on your feet (literally) things go back to the same frantic pace they always have been and fitting in blogging amongst daily life becomes increasingly difficult. I can’t remember what’s happened in the few months since I last posted, so I’ll just go with how things are now. Next Post ».

The Nationwide survey shows prices down by 0.9% in August 2010 and annual inflation down to only 3.9% that is a massive fall from 6.6% in July.
