Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan: October 2009
http://phillipyoungren.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Hey all, I finally have the bandwidth to post some low quality videos. I have one from my old house in Ha Sefako and one from my new house in Maseru. Enjoy. Sunday, October 25, 2009. First Full Week and a New House. Sorry for the big gap between substantive blog reports; it’s been busy around here. First of all, let me get some business items out of the way. Ok, on to more interesting things. Oh, and I'll get some pictures up of the new house this week. Tuesday, October 20, 2009.

Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan: World Habitat Day
http://phillipyoungren.blogspot.com/2010/10/world-habitat-day.html
Sunday, October 17, 2010. Last weekend a number of PCVs and I went to help out at World Habitat Day. A former Peace Corps Volunteer from here in Lesotho (Lorian) finished her service in May or so and took a position with Habitat for Humanity Lesotho. We caught a ride out there around 8:30, stopped for some snacks and showed up in the village around 10. These horses had some great burlap sack capes on. They looked like they were the kings of the village. The village women again. There was a family fro...

An American in Tokyo: October 2008
http://higashipatrick.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
An American in Tokyo. Gershwin's World Tour '08/'09. Wednesday, October 8, 2008. Studying for the GRE is a Bitch. The vocabulary is what gets you. Archaic and incredibly rare words flood the verbal portion. I feel it to be a tremendous imposition because the usefulness of this test to a musician is like the usefulness of a dollar to the pocket of Warren Buffett (although, apparently, he is Frugality's poster child). Take that, Analogy Section! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Studying for the GRE is a Bitch.

An American in Tokyo: Daijoubu

An American in Tokyo. Gershwin's World Tour '08/'09. Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Two full nights out this weekend has made me a little tired. Gotta love those 5:00-6:00 am trains though. I actually fell asleep on the train (typical Japanese businessman-style) Saturday morning and missed my stop (twice) and had to go all the way back from Takadanobaba on the Seibu-Shinjuku line. It was the local train, too! A couple new pictures are up: http:/ flickr.com/photos/29247809@N06/. View my complete profile.

Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan: March 2010
http://phillipyoungren.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Life in Maseru doesn't provide the same level of comedic intrigue as life in the village. That's just fact. However, there are some benefits. I pass a supermarket on my way home from work that has 2-ply toilet paper. Electricity and indoor plumbing. Thanks for keeping up with me everybody, and please leave me a comment so I know you're all still alive. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan. Lesotho: An Island Off of Japan: August 2009

Saturday, August 15, 2009. Inside the beehive hut in Swaziland. Melody hunting some impalabok for breakfast. Wildlife viewing over an egg scramble. A candle mason at Swazi Candles. Outside the beehive hut. Hippo Lake in the background. Reading on the 7 hour bus ride to Tofu. Our villa on the beach. Water taxi to Katembe Island. Fishing boats after the catch. After lunch pose on Katembe Island in Maputo Harbor. 8220;We have a reservation for a double,” I say. 8220;Do you have a double? 8221; I ask again.
