The wiki evolved from Ward Cunningham’s user-editable pattern repository which started in 1995 and became known as the Portland Pattern Repository which became a useful documentation tool for writing an encyclopedia. We need to documentso that we know what we are doing. If we do not document, we cannot learn from our history, and are doomed to repeat it.
