Notes from the Back Row:. My thoughts about what I'm watching, reading, and hearing in this media-driven world. Sunday, January 26, 2014. I'm Just a Ragamuffin. Mullins story is one of disappointment and pain, of a painful and dysfunctional family relationship, and of a heart that only God ever understood. I guess his story isn't that much different than a lot of people's stories. Aren't we all just one step away from falling flat on our faces? Wednesday, January 22, 2014. The Black List (NBC). Notes from the Back Row:. My thoughts about what I'm watching, reading, and hearing in this media-driven world. Wednesday, January 30, 2013. I watched NCIS last night, as I do most Tuesday nights. Last night's episode took a turn from just the normal crime procedural to focus on perhaps the show's most lovable and quirky characters, Abby. Sunday, January 27, 2013. Spielberg's masterful casting and storytelling makes this movie so much more than a history lesson. I connected with the characters and ev...

So, one more time, let's have some fun with this. The Dark Knight Rises. Trouble with the Curve. And my Oscar would go to:. And the winner is:.

Notes from the Back Row:. My thoughts about what I'm watching, reading, and hearing in this media-driven world. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. I'll Miss You Chuck. The thing I think I have liked the most is the fact that Chuck's character changed, but at his core he stayed the same sweet guy. He went from being a likeable coward to being a likeable master spy. And it doesn't hurt that I have a little crush on Zachary Levi. I'm a Media Baby. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What's all the fuss about?

What's all the fuss about?: November 2012

http://chriscepulis.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

What's all the fuss about? Thursday, November 15, 2012. Wednesday, November 14, 2012. I've always considered myself a writer. But a writer isn't a writer if she doesn't write. I can't believe I have gone almost a year without a blog post and even the entries in my journal are sporadic. I am living in an idea wasteland. What other brain power is there? And how people who don't live by themselves get anything accomplished I will never know. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Last week in...

What's all the fuss about? Saturday, August 8, 2015. Jamaica - Days 3-6 (Clinic days). Monday morning brought clinic in full swing. Monday through Thursday were very similar in structure, but the experience from day-to-day was so different. We were up and out of our hotel by 7:00 AM, pulling up to the church's gate by 7:15 am The church was watched over by a uniformed security guard, how often does THAT happen in the U.S? What's all the fuss about? Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Your Love Never Fails. Sunday we did a new song, called "Your Love Never Fails." It's actually an old song in modern worship circles, originally written in 2008 by Chris Mc Clarney, Anthony Skinner. These are the lyrics:. Even if I ran away. Your love never fails. I know I still make mistakes. But You have new mercies for me everyday. Your love never fails. You stay the same through the ages. Your love never changes. And when the oceans rage. My help co...

http://chriscepulis.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

What's all the fuss about? Tuesday, June 9, 2015. This morning, I was pushing myself. I thought I was doing well. Then, two little tiny ladies walking a Yorkie lapped me, not sweating or breathing hard at all. I'm sweating a river and breathing like I'm trying to get somewhere fast. Immediately, I started to beat myself up. "Really? How can that possibly be? I know my stride is longer than theirs. What the heck? Your word stands through the ages. Your voice shatters the darkness. View my complete profile.

What's all the fuss about? Tuesday, January 22, 2013. For I have learned to be content.maybe this time. Contentment. It's my constant struggle. I find myself daily, wanting. Wanting a new something, wanting a different job, wanting a relationship, wanting a family, wanting a new place to live. Every single time I have let the want overtake my contentment, I have paid a price. In December, I paid an actual price for allowing my want to have its day. My kitchen/office at Christmas. What's all the fuss about?: Jamaica -- Day 1

http://chriscepulis.blogspot.com/2015/07/jamaica-day-1.html

What's all the fuss about? Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Jamaica - Day 1. Shortly there after, we were eating our first Jamaican lunch of patties and coco bread. I think every culture has a version of the patty, it's dough filled with some kind of meat paste, in this case it's fried. I found out the next morning at breakfast that coco bread is amazing with peanut butter or Nutella. Coming soon - Day 2. July 29, 2015 at 7:26 PM. I cant wait to read more! http://chriscepulis.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

What's all the fuss about? Wednesday, February 20, 2013. This morning, I sat down to have my devotion time. I did some reading, but before I could sit down to pray, my stomach rumbled and I followed it's call to breakfast. After I ate, I wrote this in my journal. I had to eat first, Lord. I'm sorry. My hunger distracted me. Isn't that true about everything? As I thought about those words, I did a search for the word, "hunger," and these are a few of the verses that came up. Oh, fear the Lord. For the bre...

What's all the fuss about? Thursday, July 30, 2015. Jamaica - Day 2 (Church and Set Up). The coffee was strong and the water was filtered by the 5 gallon container. Lisa uses a filter on the water out of an abundance of caution. We don't need all of us going down to something in the water, that's for sure. Bottled water was available too at times, in Jamaica the brand is Wata.for real. If you look closely, you'll see large black tanks on the roofs of the buildings. Coming soon - clinic days. It was a hec...

Notes from a Young Journalist

Notes from a Young Journalist. This blog follows the early career of a young journalist, Janine Armstrong. Monday, February 28, 2011. Is It A Young Journalist Thing, Or Is It Just Me? I noticed something that I do every time I contact someone for an interview. I always make a script. I state my name, the newspaper, and the nature of my call. I also tailor my script to fit different scenarios, like if I get the person's voice mail. Is this just a young journalist thing, or is it just me? If an event is ha...

Notes from the basement

Notes from the basement. Monday, January 4, 2010. It's not like I hung out with the guy. Bob was usually found sitting on a milk crate by the loading dock rolling tobacco into paper. Even the mornings I came in at six, he'd be planted there puffing away, raising his hand as I walked past. Conversation was limited to his chuckling when Gil insulted my cooking, or talking about the Jazz with Thomas Jackson while he sorted the dishes and put them back on the shelves. That was the end of Robert Burdick.
