Saturday, 30 May 2015. In the turmoil of our busy lives we had three days of respite in Paris. It was the middle of the May holidays, M and I were tired and the children rearing to go. We took the. From Rotterdam, marveling the fact that it takes a mere three-and-a-half hours to get from our front door to Paris. Notes from Delft: A gentle push
http://www.notesfromdelft.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-gentle-push.html
Friday, 21 November 2014. There are times when I have to give myself a bit of a nudge. A gentle push, as it were. My last post was almost three (! Let me explain. There have been a number of moments in which I have had time to at least start. Be no time to write." I think you get the picture. And of course there's also the whimp in me: "O boohoo, what if I get hurt? I can't wait to sign up for the team next year. Spiced Loaf ( Kruidkoek. Saturday, 31 May 2014. Don't you just love those delightful images of children helping out in the kitchen - stirring batters, kneading balls of dough and chopping vegetables? Well so do I. I can stare at them for hours, for example in The River Cottage Family Cookbook. The problem is that in reality, the idea of my children stirring, kneading and chopping anything makes me just plain nervous. In my mind's eye I can see blood spurting out of little fingers (and onto the dinner! Notes From My Kitchen Table...
Notes from Delft: March 2015
http://www.notesfromdelft.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 4 March 2015. A glimpse of Paris. Hence we ventured out into the world of museums, using our newly acquired museum membership cards. Firstly, we visited the Kunsthal. In Rotterdam, where the children were spooked out by an odd Scandinavian film on a large screen in a darkened room. Not a good idea. After the haunting intro (something to do with plastic surgery performed by surgeons wearing balaclavas), we hurried out and visited Ron van der Ende. Later in the week we went to the Gemeente Museum.

Saturday, 10 January 2015. At the kitchen table. Thank you so much for your warm comments welcoming me back - it has done me a lot of good! I'm in a bit of a baking and cooking rut at the moment, but will undoubtedly come out of it soon. I did try something new this week - carrot and coriander fritters, taken form Nigel Slater's book Tender. Carrot and Coriander Fritters. Tender, by Nigel Slater. 325g carrots (though I used considerably more), coarsely grated*. A medium onion, diced. An egg, beaten.

http://creativeacademia.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Monday, 27 October 2014. Once again I’m joining in with the very lovely Gillian. Although it may be too warm for a hat. Although I’ve dredged the boots out of the wardrobe, I’ve actually been coatless today. Outside. In Leeds. At the end of October. The weather is unseasonably warm. We ate like Kings for the next 3 days as the ABO and I tucked into; Lancashire hotpot, Steak and Mushroom Pudding (thanks to an IG cry out Sue. This time it was a hotpot with beef and veggies in the pot. I’ve been brows...

Friday, 26 September 2014. More happies on a Friday. Thanks so much for all your lovely comments on my last post. I’m so pleased to be a part of the ‘precious things’ collaboration that Sarah. It’s been a busy week. I’ve been struggling to fight off a cold which seems to have burnt itself out without too much paracetamol or sniffing. So, BigR’s first full week at school was tiring for me as well as her! Even the combs have age restrictions on them! We love to see the kitchen garden and there was a vast f...

Tuesday, 30 June 2015. Ten things : June. Here we are at the end of the month. I'm counting down to our (hopeful) holiday, the end of the school year and the end of the medication for LittleR. Hopefully normal life and nursery can resume soon. I need to be more positive I think. The British Summer is here. I think it actually might be too hot. Well, we're experiencing 2 days of 28-30C in Leeds then, I expect it'll rain and normal service will be resumed. I'll look forward to that then! To make sure we ma...

Thursday, 16 April 2015. Ten Things : April. As well as the worry thoughts (what if.) but to counteract that I've actually gotten up and gotten on with stuff. I'm struggling to believe we're nearly a quarter of the way through the year. Thr last 6 weeks have been a blur and a steep learning curve. Pizza is now a staple in our lives since I worked out how not to make to stick to the baking tray. I often have some dough 'resting'in the fridge (who knew you do this? BigR has expressed an interest in learnin...
Creative Academia: November 2014
http://creativeacademia.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, 20 November 2014. Once upon a time I went through a period of illness. It was a very long time ago. Even now though, moments of that experience stay with me and very occasionally I think back to that time and how it partly moulded me into the person I am now. I chose most of mine for their colours and the way they felt in my hand rather than for their meaning. Every now and again I seek out my stones, for me they are a precious thing. You can see others’ precious things here:. I am trying to be...

Wednesday, 21 January 2015. Before I begin I'll start with an apology for the one appalling picture- it snowed, it didn't get light, I was rushing.enough. Sorry). Every now and then I like to step back into my old life. By that I mean I take a trip through memories that don’t surface very often. I have, ahem, several memory boxes. I remember seeing Anthea Turner (Perfect housewife – does anyone remember that? Ahahahahahahahahaha….if only…. Cards, letters, tickets, pictures, receipts (yes receipts! Includ...
Creative Academia: February 2015
http://creativeacademia.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, 28 February 2015. Ten Things : February. February has been the month I've been suffering from inertia. A feeling I should be doing something but not knowing quite what that something should be and as such not doing very much at all.at work and at home.until I suddenly think about it or write it all down and realise I've just not been doing anything particularly blogworthy in the ta-dah finished object sense of the word but have actually had a really full month. The weather just has no idea.
Creative Academia: December 2014
http://creativeacademia.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, 29 December 2014. Well the festivities are (mostly) over. The ABO managed a swap and didn't have to go back to work until the 27th, which was lucky due the snow! Even so the journey the next day took ages.I really dislike the M62! Hopefully this will be his last out of base for a while. I've been trying to assimilate the new toys into the house so that I'm not stepping on it (duplo/lego), pushing it out of the way of an almost 2 year old (playmobil) or finding it stuck to me (mosaic jewels).
Notes from the (never) bored-room: Ah autumn...
http://wilswit.blogspot.com/2014/09/ah-autumn.html
Notes from the (never) bored-room. There's a very definite change in the atmosphere. Farmers busy themselves with essential work while the weather holds and just beyond the fields, the waters of the Irish Sea are a little rougher than of late. I spotted this fabulous village sign on a work visit this week. For years a friend thought it was pronounced Tamla O'Frilly. Thursday, September 04, 2014. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Daniel and Friends
Come read my mail! How I Met Jesus. Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Meet Cyndi, a Fruitful Single. The Bible says that unmarried Christians can be concerned about the things of the Lord, how they may please the Lord. (1 Corinthians 7:32-35.) But what does this look like in real life? I got the idea to record a series of short audio interviews with unmarried Christians who are using their singleness fruitfully for the Lord. My hope is that these interviews will help more singles live lives of fruitfulness.

Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary. Crossways on the bridge between. Wednesday 29 September 2010 by Deb. OK So this is my first post here in a LONG time. And what am I posting about? One of the things I enjoy most is study of the Bible: its theology, hermeneutics, history, culture, archaeology, etc. I have been using Bible software for a long time. When I got my iPhone this spring Bible apps were just about the first apps I had to have. Church-going just got a whole lot more exciting! Currently the cos...
