NOTES FROM THE INVISIBLE SCORE: Philip Glass made me cry...again

http://notesfromtheinvisiblescore.blogspot.com/2011/12/philip-glass-made-me-cryagain.html

NOTES FROM THE INVISIBLE SCORE. Dec 9, 2011. Philip Glass made me cry.again. The first time I saw Philip Glass play was when I was 15 and he came through town with Bang on a Can. I remember being bored out of my skull until he got on stage and played a couple movements from his Metamorphosis and felt a tear roll down my cheek. I had a similar sensation when reading a post in Alex Ross' blog. But luckily, Alex Ross was and he captured this epic moment on video (see below).

NOTES FROM THE INVISIBLE SCORE. Aug 28, 2011. NOTES FROM THE INVISIBLE SCORE: Stravinsky's dreams

http://notesfromtheinvisiblescore.blogspot.com/2011/03/stravinskys-dreams.html

NOTES FROM THE INVISIBLE SCORE. Mar 6, 2011. Short analysis of the dance of the adolescents:. 8220;Dance of the Adolescents” is aurally hard to follow due to the dissonance created by the various secundal harmonies, polychordal texture that dominates the piece and the obscured tonal center. The piece does however seem to focus on Eb and while on page 28 in the second system there is a key change and the three flats disappear, the tone of Eb is still emphasized throughout the entire composition.

NOTES FROM THE INVISIBLE SCORE: Minimal Mysticism: analyzing Arvo Pärt’s “Fratres”

http://notesfromtheinvisiblescore.blogspot.com/2011/04/minimal-mysticism-analyzing-arvo-parts.html

NOTES FROM THE INVISIBLE SCORE. Apr 28, 2011. Minimal Mysticism: analyzing Arvo Pärt’s “Fratres”. 8220;The complex and many-faceted only confuses me, and I must search for unity. What is it, this one thing, and how do I find my way to it? Traces of this perfect thing appear in many guises- and everything that is unimportant falls away. Tintinnabulation is like this… The three notes of a triad are like bells. An that is why I call it tintinnabulation.” (Pärt, Arvo, Pinkerton). November 26, 2011 at 7:57 AM.

Notes From the Inside Out. Posted by: Lesley Gangwish. On: March 14, 2011. On the bright side, just as Belle offered an unconditional love and in many ways helped the Beast through his learning process, I too have been offered the same, through the unconditional love of Jesus (and my amazing husband! notesfromtheisleofman | Impressions of life on the Isle of Man and Beyond

Impressions of life on the Isle of Man and Beyond. February 6, 2012. This blog’s turning into a rant. Have you been caught speeding recently? I’m not saying I didn’t learn anything. In fact, having learnt to drive and passed my test in France, my knowledge of some areas of the English highway code was hazy. But four hours? OK, now I am Speed Aware. I’ve done the course so I don’t care. I’ve done my bit, paid my dues. And paid my eighty-five pounds too. So hold your horses, here I come. January 23, 2012.

Notes from the Italian camera

Notes from the Italian camera. Notes from the camera. Sunday, November 22, 2015. A solitary person is a curiosity. Ask him where he has been, what he is doing. Or something we should bother less about. Let him be. Let him stand or sit or walk the paces. A solitary man is noticed, among the crowd of well wishers. Feeding off their anxiety, their costs, their way. Leave him be. He waits for nothing. He is sheltered by his thoughts. He is cleansed by his emptiness. Leave the solitary man to himself. Some ha...
