I printed all the materials that made up the application and gathered all the necessary items: transcripts, copy of Colorado license, and checks for ridiculous amounts of money. 8220;Okie” is Latin for HOT! Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Four years and counting. This weekend Bryan’s family threw a surprise party for his grandparents’ 55th wedding anniversary. His grandma doesn’t like surprises or “fuss” and so it was a little up in the air as to whether or not she would be happy about it. Afterwards, she said that whoever’s idea it had been could forget about a Christmas present this year. I think that means she took it pretty well. Some people ask the secret of our long marriage....

Alaska! Now or Never!
WE HAVE RETURNED FROM OUR ALASKAN ADVENTURE! After an initial set-back involving the car, the travel trailer, and an unhappy Sophie, we left Oklahoma City on August 17 for Alaska. Twenty four days and 7,783 miles later we pulled back into the driveway. Thursday, September 8, 2011. ONE MORE DAY ON THE ROAD! We are in Kearney, NE. tonight. Our last night on the road! The good Lord willing - and the creeks don't rise - we'll arrive in OKC tomorrow afternoon. Just 445 miles to go! Tuesday, September 6, 2011.

Wednesday, November 22, 2006. Nine months ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma, a serious form of cancer. Left unchecked and untreated I might not be here today. I sought the best care available and there has been encouraging results. I am thankful for the medical personnel and their knowledge to assist me with treatment. I am thankful for the many, many prayers from this body of believers as well as friends and family all over this great country. I am so very thankful for my caregivers, my family.

Apparently a good year for crane flies, butterflies, and moths means a good year for berries as well. By my estimation, the season will be over by next Saturday or so, but the good news is that the weather is forecast to be mild for the coming week. Last year the crop quickly dehydrated on the vine.
