http://oneteacherstake.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 22, 2012. State Test Prep and Top 5 Brain Breaks. So here is my take. It is crunch time for teachers at my school as we are still taking state tests (May 31st is our last one)! Like many teachers I try to make test prep more meaningful to students by having stations, partner games, and interactive white board review games like jeopardy.but sometimes practice questions in standard form must be covered too! This is exactly how I feel right now! 1 Keep It Up:. 2 Elbow Knee Taps:. I use the yout...

The cute zebra pattern is really. Standard sized pillow cases! Click here to go to the Target website. I bought these 3 tiered bookshelves from Target when they went on sale for $16.99. I love how easy (no tools) they are to put together and how sturdy they are! I have to do that. If you happen to know, please let me know!

Monday, April 21, 2014. The Book Whisperer and Me! So here's my take. Most teachers are familiar with Donalyn Miller as the "Book Whisperer". And probably devoured her book like a piece of chocolate cake. Well, I was one of those teachers who after reading the book. Was ready to implement everything Donalyn was prescribing! Virginia is for Teachers. A Teacher's Guide to Teaching Life Cycles: Frogs, Butterflies, and Chickens Oh My! One memory that stands out in my mind during my oldest's early elementary years is the experience of hatching chicks. His teacher said it was, "a dud year" and that she'd never do it again because so many didn't make it, but even so, it was truly a neat experience for him. Even 13 years later, he still remembers the chicks chirping, jumping around, and holding them, and the pictures? For Chicken w...

Virginia is for Teachers. Alphabet Journals.4 Steps for Journal Writing. First grade teachers work hard every year to send independent readers and writers to second grade. But every first grade teacher forgets what September means in first grade.it means they are still kindergartners. The re-post can be a good idea for journals at the beginning of first grade. What can I write about? Of course, this is the goal. Students have to write about their picture. The more detail in the picture, the more ...If yo...

Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Fun with Dr. Seuss. We have been working on some fun Dr. Seuss themed activities this week. We started out the week by creating Cat in the Hat from paper plates. Then we added rhyming words to the hats. Super cute! We also made these adorable Thing 1 and Thing 2 handprints inspired from Mel D. Check out her blog {here}. She also has a really cute Lorax activity on her blog for free! Thing 2 came to my backyard. She yanked my dog's tail, made all the palm trees collapse, ...

Science and S.S. Reading/L.A. Printables. Thursday, April 12, 2012. So, today I did something I don't usually do and it caused a stir in my classroom. All, and I do mean all, of my students stopped playing in the middle of recess and started screaming at eachother to look. Why? Well, I snuck on to the jungle gym with them while they were busy playing. I went down the slide, played chase, and climbed right along with them. They were so excited! I'll start with the questions I was asked and my answers.

http://littlemissteachyteach.blogspot.com/2014/05/five-for-friday-currently-and-freebie.html

Friday, May 2, 2014. Five for Friday, CURRENTLY, and a FREEBIE! What a LONG week I had. We started our planting unit this week and planted our very own sunflowers. OF COURSE because I was not blessed with a green thumb, I totally drowned the poor seeds! I brought them home with me hoping I can save them. If not…. I'm going to have to make a trip to Michaels and Lowes! Womp Womp. At least my littles found it humorous! I was expecting tears and whines because I killed their plants. But! UGH love this movie!

Sunday, March 8, 2009. Wellit has been quite a week. Quite an emotional week. For those of you that teach, you understand the friendships that we develop as we teach side by side with each other. One Teacher's Perspective

Saturday, November 4, 2017. The Air Still Stinks. After a trail race last winter, I gagged entering a park restroom serving as a makeshift locker room for sweaty, muddy runners. 8220;It smells like crap in here,” I complained as I contemplated an immediate exit. However, with freezing temperatures outside, I had no choice but to endure the stench. Trying to ignore my odor-induced nausea, I cornered some space for my backpack and quickly got to work cleaning up. Walker’s wind has brought in an air o...
