Welcome to my world: digging, harvesting and other stuff. As I find them, I’ll share the blogs and websites that I like to read and find useful and I might not limit myself just to my allotment self…. First has to be My Tiny Plot. I followed this when it was a tiny allotment plot and then a small but beautifully formed vegetable garden in Bath and now a huge and well planned, soon to be gorgeous garden across the big pond. Full of inspirational photos. My go to allotment site is always allotments4all.

July 2015 – Allotment Life

Welcome to my world: digging, harvesting and other stuff. July 22, 2015. It Ain't All Flowers. We are the women with heavy eyelids, hectic homes, and full hearts. When our little one forgot his favorite blanket in the car this morning, we left work to take it to him. We wiped butts, played chauffeur, cooked dinner, cleaned messes, gave baths, read books, and chased away monsters. Not once today did anyone say,. We are unacknowledged, but we will wake up and do it all again tomorrow. July 12, 2015. I hear...

Welcome to my world: digging, harvesting and other stuff. July 12, 2015. July 12, 2015. That’s the number of words it’s taken me three months to write. Today, finally I placed the last full stop at the end of the last paragraph, saved it as a PDF and sent it off to be marked. I’ll be back blogging about purple sheds, blooming sunflower hedges and the like in a few days – just need a little lie-down first. We Are Mothers →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Welcome to my world: digging, harvesting and other stuff. A day at Kew. August 14, 2016. August 17, 2016. I think I need a bucket list of places to visit that are within 10 miles of home. The last time I visited Kew, I lived in SE London and it took 2.5 hours and involved the South Circular – enough said. But since moving to Isleworth and being able to see Kew on the opposite river bank, have I visited? Am I season ticket holder? Umm no, and I have no reasons to justify such an oversight. There was a who...

Welcome to my world: digging, harvesting and other stuff. The plants cost 50p each. Rude not to and so much less faff than cossetting tomato seedlings in the depth of winter. Deciding to grow roses at the plot for the vase was inspired. I’ve fallen in love with paoenies all over again. Varieties are Chris Beardshaw and Chandos Beauty. Chosen for their fragrance. First pick of the year. I spent a week as a postgrad student. Felt very priveleged. Leggy and under attack by the evil mollusc. The most photogr...

Honeysuckle – Allotment Life
https://lifeonalondonplot.com/2015/06/09/honeysuckle
Welcome to my world: digging, harvesting and other stuff. June 9, 2015. June 7, 2015. I’m really pleased with how the plot is shaping up this year; for the last 3 years I have felt my motivation slipping. The weather, pests and rampant bindweed didn’t help improve my mood. At the start of this year though, something changed. The plot has always my place for solitude and reflection and I really needed some of that in my life. The plot benefited from my attention too. Surrounded by fragrant honeysuckle.
