It's amazing what we take for granted here. Having someone with a fresh point of view helps us think about things again. We found out that Ina really likes Diet Pepsi. In Norway, they serve watered down sodas and you pay for every one you get. Here in the US, it's hard to find a place where you do not get free refills of soda.

I work across from a retail center known as Irvine Spectrum Center. It is nice having this center across the street from work. It was a good time to go - the weather was gorgeous, it wasn't crowded at all.but there were some crazy biting flies on the beach that hurt like the dickens, and unfortunately, our resort pooling was freezing cold. A few of my South African friends have been introducing me to all kinds of treats, and melktert is now one of my favorite desserts! I have been playing around with the recipe (and sharing test samples with my SA friends) over the past year, and finally got it right.
