Saturday, April 30, 2011. Hamilton Quilt Guild Meeting. That afternoon, we visited the Hamilton Quilter's for their monthly meeting, featuring Daphne Phillips, an octogenarian, and one of the most prolific quilters ever! Daphne shared many of the quilts she had made over the course of her quilting career. Most inspiring was her 'can do' attitude, not to mention all of the quilts she had made. Ellen (in the flying goose jacket) checks out some of Daphne's handiwork. Quilt Venues and Classes. Translated as...

Saturday, 31 January 2015. The last week has seen a lot of progress and almost finishes! I got my binding on my "100 Modern Quilt Blocks" from last year's. Breakfast Club that I ran at the shop. Helen Harford quilted it and it looks great - it is such a large quilt it is going. Forever to hand sew the binding down. Here is a taster of the quilting. I got the first corners of my Patchwork of the Crosses on. It is going to take a while to get all the way around the quilt. As I don't have enough of it.

Thursday, 30 October 2014. More of Mary Koval,s Collection. Here are some more of Mary Koval's Antique Quilt Collection that were on. Display at the Houston Quilt Market and Festival. This next quilt has fabric from the 1830s - 1850s. Isn't the blue border. These next two are unusual as black was not often used in the 1880s. This one is really interesting with the pre-printed calendar on it. Mary hadn't been able to find out anything much about it. It is dated 1881. And I haven't bought one! A border "le...

A Patchwork Pastiche
Monday, December 01, 2008. Another Thanksgiving has come and gone. I've been reading various blogs and I've read some lovely accounts of how people spent the holiday. Extraordinary food. Lovely tables. Beautiful homes. Family and friends. Very pleasant reading indeed. Not exactly how I'd describe the day around here though. As is the custom, we had Thanksgiving at my house. My parents came and all of my girls were there, along with one of the boyfriends. So the family and friend thing? Maybe not so much.
The Patchwork Path - Home
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Winston Churchill. There's a saying: "We may not have it all together; but together, we have it all.". I also have sparks of brilliance, moments of genius ( moments. All of us walk paths in life that are a patchwor...
