One of the requests for my Postcards from Rome project. Was the Italian Flag, so I bought back a cheesy little plastic flag from a gift store and embroidered onto it some custom type using gold thread. The plastic flag bunched and puckered terribly, so I still prefer the vector of this one, and I’d love to get it embroidered properly one day. Size: 20cm x 12cm. Materials: Embroidered Plastic Flag. One of the requests for my Postcards from Rome project. Was Food Typography , so I designed the word Gusto in custom type, cut it out of vinyl and sprinkled flour over the top. The fun part was arranging all the food around it for the photo shoot and I must confess, I ate most of the bocconcini. That’s my garden in the background. Size: 20cm x 12cm. Materials: Food and flour on timber. It’s not wrong. It’s just different. Speaking at Creative South. Book of the Year. To the Moon and Back.

One of the requests for my Postcards from Rome project. Was “Beautiful Typography”, so I spelled out the words in Italian, refined the sketch in Photoshop, and etched the design in to timber and finished it off with red acrylic paint and polished gold wax over the top. Size: 20cm x 12cm. Materials: Laser cut timber, paint and wax. It’s not wrong. It’s just different. Speaking at Creative South. Book of the Year. To the Moon and Back. Creativity is for everyone. Was nice to be featured in the launch issue of Letterspace, a new iPad magazine on type by Saawan Ebe. Posted by The Tactile Typographer on January 21, 2014 in Tactile Typography. I spent some time this Christmas making cards based on cheesy 50s images and I then put slightly rude messages over the top in gold vinyl. I heard people chuckling up and down the corridor as they opened them. Posted by...
