Thursday, May 27, 2010. This image is by far one of the most amazing images on the APOD website that I have seen all year. This sun looks like it is in its apocalyptic stage, as if there is some light still trying to penetrate the darkness of the clouds. The photo shows a dark filament of the sun which, is actually 40 earth diameters! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Observations Part II, Quarter 4 FINAL OBSERVATIONS. View my complete profile.

The Deepest, Heaviest, Most Brutal Blog Ever. Friday, April 27, 2007. M81 is a fairly large spiral galaxy, about as large as the Milky way and one of the brightest in the night sky. The yellow core of the galaxy is clearly visible, as is the nearby companion galaxy, Homberg IX. Both galaxies are viewed here through the stars in our Milky Way, as well as some highly-reflective dust clouds high above the galactic plane, which have been dubbed "integrated flux nebulae".
