Quilting on the Coast - Quilting on the Coast Blog

http://www.quiltingonthecoast.com.au/blog.html

Quilting on the Coast. Very bad I am at updating my blog. Life just seems to take over. Needless to say I have heaps to catch you up on, so here are the things that were ready in draft form about three months ago! First up is a gorgeous Japanese wall hanging. The quilting pattern used is a clamshell design called Blowing Pampas. Very appropriate design for the project. Lastly is a cot quilt I made for my son's best friend (from school days). The quilt is called Best of Friends. I was asked only t...How i...

Lynda in Wonderland: June 2015

http://lyndainwonderland.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Using up the Stash. The pieces for a Scrappy Zig Zag quilt have been cut out for a while - still trying to make a dent in the stash. I'll make the backing tonight then it can be quilted. Found a binding already made in my drawer that will suit this quilt too. Labels: Scrappy Zig Zag. The Sydney Quilt Show was held recently - so many beautiful quilts on show, especially the Red and White Challenge Quilts. A lovely day out with Karen. And Paula. Of course, there was a bit of shopping. Kaleidoscope is a fun...

Lynda in Wonderland: May 2015

http://lyndainwonderland.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

The binding has been added to a couple of small quilts and these quilts will be going to their new homes later this week. The Zig-Zag quilt was made from left-over Fireworks fabrics. Lovely bright, fresh colours. Backing, binding and quilting by Karen. Backing, binding and quilting by Karen. The binding on this quilt was added using a method/tutorial from Linda at Flourishing Palms. A great way to use two different fabrics to finish off a quilt. In January I cut out a second Goodnight Irene quilt, on Sat...

Lynda in Wonderland: Scrappy Zig Zag Quilt

http://lyndainwonderland.blogspot.com/2015/07/scrappy-zig-zag-quilt.html

Scrappy Zig Zag Quilt. Last night while watching tv I finished sewing down the binding on the Scrappy Zig Zag quilt. I love this quilt - it's so bright and fresh plus it all came out of my stash. It measures 60-1/2" square. S cable design quilting looks wonderful too against the sharp points of the zig zags. Most of last week's sewing time was spent putting Fresh together (it's 96-1/2" square). I'm waiting for a piece of fabric to arrive then I can make the backing for this one. I love the orange swoon!

Lynda in Wonderland: July 2015

http://lyndainwonderland.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Anyone following me on Instagram or Facebook knows that I have a new cutting table. It arrived yesterday and I'm so tickled pink with it. I've been using a chest of drawers as a cutting bench for the last 6 years and it's worked very well but the time has come for something bigger. I moved some of the girls' childhood furniture into the room as well for some more storage and it's all set, except for some tidying/cleaning out of the wardrobe and shelves. Think I might need a white machine cabinet next.

Lynda in Wonderland: April 2015

http://lyndainwonderland.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Finished stitching down the binding on pink "Frolic" last night. This is a great quilt pattern from Allison Harris ( CluckCluckSew. I've made a few of Allison's patterns and they are all very well written, fresh, modern designs. The quilting was simple ditch-stitching with the Bernina running stitch outlining the plain fabric zig-zags 1/4" in from the seam on both sides. I love the backing fabric - it's one of the patchwork prints from the Whitewashed Cottage range. Did - think it's my favourite design&#...

Lynda in Wonderland: August 2015

http://lyndainwonderland.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Log Cabin Quilt Top. At the class with Barb and Mary. I chose to start the Log Cabin quilt from their Jelly Rolls Gone Wild pattern. All their fabrics are such fun, happy colours and designs. I decided to add borders, mainly because I wanted to use up as much of the fabric as possible (still have quite a few strips leftover). Sewed on the last border a couple of nights ago. A while ago I ordered some cute dotty fabric to back this quilt - once again the parcel was held up in Customs for almost two weeks.

Quilting on Main Street

Quilting On Main Street - Musings on my creative journey as a quilter. Monday, July 6, 2015. The 3-day weekend for July 4 turned into a short sewcation for me. We did not have a lot happening so I got to spend a few hours sewing every day. I worked on my La Passacaglia project, making more rosette centers. And a lot of the stars needed for the outer ring of each rosette. I think I'll be interrupting this project next weekend to work on some other sewing I want to get done. Links to this post. Friday, Jun...

A peek at my life. My quilting, my cooking and a look at the beautiful place that I live! Raffle Quilt Instructions…. I have been very busy. I have sewed, canned, cleaned, played, shopped and celebrated a birthday. This past weekend I canned 10 pints of dill pickles. I can’t wait to try them but I like to let them sit for a few weeks before I open and taste them. Center of first Hexie – lots more to add. This is the fabric that I started with. Chester River Quilter

Monday, February 2, 2015. Wow - - time to write my 5 goals. I am going to go very modest since I only have 27 days left. Here they are for better or worse:. 1 Finish piecing March UFO on Peggy's Sewing Center challenge and. Finish one other UFO from my pile. 2 Schedule my mammogram and get my shingles shot. 3 Walk 15 miles (seriously it seems low, but I need to factor weather and health). 4 Drink more water (at least 16 oz). 5 Knit a pair of yoga socks! Barbara on the Eastern Shore. 4 Walk 40 miles -.
