Rambling Down in the Street
Thursday, October 3, 2013. Anne Ford Essay, 2007. But I knew everyone thought I was stupid, and I became determined to disprove them. I lied to my friends about where I went every morning. I was surly to Alice. When she finally stopped coming, I was convinced it was because she realized I wasn’t an idiot. I couldn't admit that I had actually learned something, the thing that finally enabled me to read. The essay won me the 2007 Honorable Mention for the Anne Ford Scholarship. I can't guarantee my blogs will be as fulfilling as a rich, bold brew, but hey, I'll do what I can. Saturday, February 05, 2011. At The Little Gym. Owen just started his second semester at The Little Gym after taking the fall semester off. He's having a blast and especially loves the bars, bubbles and parachute. He's growing by leaps and bounds and just loves any kind of physical activity - running, climbing and rolling. He's such a cutie! Here's a short video from today's class during bubble time. In la...

Rambling Dream
Nature loving vegan minimalist with wanderlust. Minimalism has made us look at everything in our life, both physical and non. One of the things we decided upon was to not have urns for our sweeties. Instead, we have a single jar to represent them all. Both of us want our ashes scattered in a body of water when we die and we feel most at peace with the same when it comes to our pack members. This year started off rough for the gardens due to the weather, but it ended up peaking in July and was the best it...

rambling dude | a blog by some dude who rambles a bit
A blog by some dude who rambles a bit. Who is this dude? Can variety be the spice of life? Since the start of the new year I, like many no doubt, have noticed the now annual rise in motivational tweets (mainly retweets to be fair), inspirational quotes and pledges to make big changes, be it fitness, career, lifestyle or something else. I also understand how hard it is to make big changes, quitting a job or getting a new one can be a big deal. So please, stop talking and do it. In the last two weeks my ti...

Rambling Dwarf
A dwarf warriors blog about World of Warcraft in general and tanking in particular - if I ever get around to it. Saturday, 28 January 2012. Just because I had to think about it . I notice several things. Little kids are virulent. They meet and greet pestilence and disease whenever they go to Kindergarten (or the equivalent in other countries - is it Playschool in England? My theory is this: They all get recruited by gouvernmental bio-weapons research divisions. That way their natural immunity to ever...

Tuesday, June 16, 2009. VMWare patch for Fedora 11. Here are the steps I did to patch VMWare 6.5.1 after upgrading to Fedora 11. This should be similar for other distros (like Ubuntu 9.06) that have kernel version 2.6.29. 1) Cleanup the yum environment. This was needed since I did an upgrade from Fedora 10 to 11. 2) Install the kernel-devel rpm (if not already there). Rpm -qa grep kernel-devel-2.6.29. Kernel-devel-2.6.29.4-167.fc11.i586. If you don't see the package above, then install it:. The original ...
