Friday, 23 September 2016. Today we went for a walk to see how the underpass looked now that it is finished. We enjoyed the walk over there, on the way, we stopped to watch diggers and trucks working by the church. The underpass is now painted and we we think it is looking pretty cool. We were interested in the skylights and ventilation tubes. At the other side, we saw where the time capsule was buried. We made a book about what school is like for us in 2016 to put in it. Wednesday, 17 August 2016. We love reading. We do our group box first. We have our easier, favourites in these boxes to help us practise reading. We read to ourselves and we read to buddies. We try and make our reading sound like talking. We read to a teacher at the jellybean table. Our teachers swap around and we like that. They all get to see what great readers we are! Friday, 2 September 2016. We have been thinking about how we use food for lots of different occasions. We celebrate with food at Christmas time and parties, we take comfort food to people when they feel sick, or sad. We have been thinking about how we can share food with our buddy class. Next we tried making packet and canned soup. We quite liked the taste, but it was a bit salty. When we read the ingredient list there were things we didn't even know what they were! Room 1 2016 Clive School. Wednesday, 7 December 2016. Our Water Day stories. Yesterday was an amazing day. These are the terrific things that Hunt and I did: slippery long slide, super water guns, wet sprinkler, very fun sponge throwing and the red water trough.
