Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Missed three weeks of posting to my blog. I feel like I was missing in action. Partly, I was just all over the place with my quilting. Starting too many projects and not finishing any. But, I also had the excuse of my grandchildren and my sweet granddaughter is extremely demanding and seems to still have major meltdowns so she requires a lot of my time, attention and energy. And she creates chaos as she goes. Then my husband went...

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting: June is a slower month for finishing

http://rosyquilter.blogspot.com/2015/06/june-is-slower-month-for-finishing.html

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting. Sunday, June 14, 2015. June is a slower month for finishing. I seem to have slowed down even though I have three quilt tops that are waiting patiently for me to get them layered and quilted. One day at a time. In the meantime, I have been sidetracked (distracted? This project is finished however! I was absolutely delighted and thrilled. another project awaits! This sampler is ancient. The blocks were from an advanced sampler class that I was teaching ...

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting: February 2015

http://rosyquilter.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting. Monday, February 23, 2015. I managed to finish two tops this week. Both are Villa Rosa patterns, which I am loving. Simple cutting and piecing and easy to follow directions. This one was made using fat quarters plus some grey yardage. I had some 10" squares of batiks but one set wasn't enough to make a decent size quilt so I cut up some of my batiks on hand and added to the stack. This is the result. Links to this post. Tuesday, February 17, 2015. I finis...

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting: Too hot to be a sewing maniac!

http://rosyquilter.blogspot.com/2015/07/too-hot-to-be-sewing-maniac.html

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting. Sunday, July 5, 2015. Too hot to be a sewing maniac! Very hot here in the Pacific Northwest. Breaking temperature records and lots of forest fires all around the province. I have been hiding in the basement but even feels too hot to use the iron much so I pieced a lot yesterday and left the pressing until late last night. Today, we had no electricity for most of the day so we escaped and it has been a complete no sewing day at all! Good group to join.

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting: March 2015

http://rosyquilter.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting. Thursday, March 19, 2015. Last week in my AZ house for the winter. Am packing up my sewing/quilting projects ready to take home tops for quilting and tidying what I have here so I will feel organized when we leave for home. I finished a table runner that is perfect for here in Arizona. This is a mug rug that I sent to my partner for the March swap. I made some of the St. Louis 16 patch blocks from fat quarters and got this quilt top put together. Marching...

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting: May 2015

http://rosyquilter.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Rosyquilter's Life: Family, Friends and Quilting. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. I am making good progress on my quilting projects and feeling very happy that I have some finishes happening. More quilts are on the pile to have the binding completed and that feels great! I loaded a quilt on the B-line (home quilting system) and got it quilted. That always feels good to have something done. I made more of my chevron blocks to test this method and now have a stack waiting to be sewn. Links to this post. Two on th...

Susan being Snippy: Yarn Dilemna

http://susanbeingsnippy.blogspot.com/2015/08/yarn-dilemna.html

8220;Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” Vincent Van Gogh. Thursday, August 13, 2015. The other day my friend Doris brought me some yarn that she had acquired from free or cheap sources. She did not need all that she had got so shared some of the treasures with me. That makes it awfully expensive. I guess I just live in a more frugal, common world! So I thought that I would play around with this "special" yarn. I had actually considered listing these balls of yarn on ...

Susan being Snippy: September 2013

8220;Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” Vincent Van Gogh. Saturday, September 28, 2013. Strange what people might consider multi-tasking. I for one feel that this idea of multi-tasking often means your attention is divided and you really don't do either task to the best that you are able. BUT its not okay to sit in a lecture and work on a small crochet piece? I can not only crochet while listening to a instructor give a lecture AND answer a question or two put to me whil...

8220;Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” Vincent Van Gogh. Friday, May 30, 2014. How I made a tray feeder for wild birds. This morning my niece posted on Facebook about a type of feeder that she wanted to order from Wild Birds Unlimited. And I had been thinking of a similar type of feeder for my back yard because the BlueJays and some of the other larger birds could not access the round tube feeder that I have there. So, as you know, I occasionally go off on a "tangent"!

8220;Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” Vincent Van Gogh. Monday, March 31, 2014. Works in Progress, end of March part one. I have been busy this month, with so many different things! I never really stop sewing or quilting so today's update is a bit eclectic. Amigurumi. I don't even know how to pronounce it! I decided, even though I am a well experience crocheter, perhaps starting with something easy would be a good idea. As a starting point. Another very long term proje...

Susan being Snippy: The Future of Food - Diet Quality

8220;Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” Vincent Van Gogh. Friday, September 5, 2014. The Future of Food - Diet Quality. Earlier this week, I discovered a series being presented on the National Geographic website called The Future of Food. Some of the subjects that involve food are quite intricate and complicated. Very far beyond just sitting down at your table (here in Canada) to have dinner and as my Dad often said "shoveling it in". Jamie's Money Saving Meals. Hahaha) ...

So Many Projects So Little Time: Sill here, still cold

http://somanyprojectssolittletime.blogspot.com/2015/03/sill-here-still-cold.html

So Many Projects So Little Time. Thursday, March 5, 2015. Sill here, still cold. I have managed to get a lot of cleaning done, I am warmer if I just keep moving. Have a few more rooms to finish. Have gotten craft/sewing stuff done. Am working on projects that have been on my mind to do for a long time but I just never seem to get to. This is going to be the year to get most of them done, or just forget about them altogether. One or the other. This and That From a Packrat. A Purple Daisy or two.

http://somanyprojectssolittletime.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

So Many Projects So Little Time. Sunday, July 13, 2014. Ever notice how life seems to take some really interesting twists and turns? Like I had so many different plans for this year, than what actually took place so far. Made a good start on decluttering the house, and decided on a rummage sale to get rid of the stuff, and bring a bit more money into the kitty.priced all the stuff, put it all on tables in the garage just in case it rained. Still did it, cause it was in the paper. A Purple Daisy or two.

Quilts & Crafts

Friday, December 11, 2009. Well, I was sad to realize that it would be unsafe for me to put up my tree this year. Crazy Cassy the kitten would knock it down for sure and probably eat some of it too. My holiday decor would not be complete. Luckily I'm a resourceful quilter so if I can't have an actual Christmas tree, the next best thing is a quilted Christmas tree! How fun it was to make and decorate this little tree! Posted by Quiltin' Rose. Links to this post. Thursday, October 29, 2009. So it's been a ...

Rosyragpatch's Blog - A sewing adventure

These were the main raw materials. Anyone else think plastic shiney sweet wrappers are a terrible waste but very seductive? I collected them over Christmas and sewed them to a piece of donated fabric – not fabric I could have used for anything visible. Happy New Year to all of you! January 6, 2014. Crazy but not Victorian. 21st century crazy quilt – machine made. Inside my head I saw autumn leaves in a maze. I didn’t put anything down on paper for once, just started to see where it went.
