All in all a pretty good day! Posted by The Hoyt Family. Tuesday, February 24, 2009. I got sent this diary in an email and thought it was so funny! I can sympathetically relate. For my birthday this year, my daughter (the dear) purchased a week of personal training at the local health club for me. Belinda was...

Running in Louisiana: October 2008
http://abitarunning.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2008. So I'm not dressing up this year. Sad, but definitely saved me a lot. Of aggravation of the 'what-kind-of-slutty-portrayal-can-I-do-this-year? Sort However I'll put up this picture in honor of Halloween. Not exactly what I was last year (a firefighter), but rather what I was the day after, a ho. On November 1 last year we rented a party bus for a Pimps and Hoes (or is it hos? Not that I'm not normally psyched for any opportunity to dress like a skank. Wednesday, October 29, 2008.

Run FastLane Run!: Just What I Needed
http://runfastlanerun.blogspot.com/2008/09/just-what-i-needed.html
Saturday, September 20, 2008. Just What I Needed. I ran 20 miles today. It was great. Really. Who needs to do the actual marathon when you feel that good running 20 miles? Because I am ready to go. Cross posted at That's Life v 2.0. Sometimes I think love training more than the actual marathon. I was thinking that today as I did my first longer run in a long time.it felt great! The marathon is just the icing on the cake. and bragging rights of course! September 20, 2008 at 9:59 AM. Life Gets in The Way.

Run FastLane Run!: May 2013
http://runfastlanerun.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 17, 2013. In my last post. And so I waver. And I find myself unable to take the steps to commit to the goal of a full marathon. I have one picked out. I now know the date that I would need to start training. But, I haven't started making a plan. I haven't paid a race fee. I keep thinking about running a half marathon and running faster than my last one instead. I know that I can handle the training. I know that I can run a full marathon. And, I kind of, really do want to make this my goal.

Qualifying for the Boston Marathon: Breaking In My New Garmin Forerunner 405
http://run350.blogspot.com/2009/10/breaking-in-my-new-garmine-forerunner.html
Qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Monday, October 5, 2009. Breaking In My New Garmin Forerunner 405. I finally broke down and upgraded from the Garmin Forerunner 205 to the 405 this past week. I ordered it off of eBay for a very reasonable "buy it now" price, and separately ordered a footpod accelerometer. They both arrived very quickly. I couldn't get it to detect the footpod right away despite walking with the footpod the entire time (you have to have it moving to send data). But, eventually, I h...

Qualifying for the Boston Marathon: 2009 Chicago Marathon: Early Race Report

Qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Monday, October 12, 2009. 2009 Chicago Marathon: Early Race Report. By mile 15, my quads really began to hurt, but I also knew I was more than half way through. I'd managed three gels at this point (in spite of the fact their consistency was more of vaseline in the cold temps, ewwww), and done a great job of hydrating. The cool temperatures really helped, and I honestly believe made the effort after this point possible. I am so glad that it all came together for you!
