The Running Junkie: December 2014
http://www.running-junkie.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30. Maaaybe last entry of 2014. Four awesome things to make the 2014-2015 transition the best ever:. I ran 8, pain-free miles yesterday! Longest run since the October half in Detroit. Yay! Kathryn is on her way to Ann Arbor as I type this. I am so. effin. excited. can't. type. AH! ALSO HANNAH. She'll be here tomorrow. DOUBLE WIN. Best friends ever here to welcome the new year = pure happiness. Monday, December 8. Thanksgiving this year was nice. At the Detroit Opera House. I'd never...
The Running Junkie: August 2014
http://www.running-junkie.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27. Race Recap: Crim 10 Miler. I ran the Crim 10 mile race on Saturday, 8/23/2014, with an average pace of 8:18/mi. The race itself is HUGE. According to its Wikipedia page. It attracts something like 50,000 runners every year, which I kinda believe (and kinda don't? Since the course felt very crowded for the first 2-3 miles. Overall, it was a really fun race! Mile 1: 8:49 ("MMMK, A LITTLE FAST BUT WHATEVS"). Mile 2: 8:12 ("WHAT.THE F? Mile 3: 8:06 ("I HATE YOU TY, KILL KILL KILL").
The Running Junkie: January 2015

Friday, January 23. Words for no words. NO), "maybe he knew about it? HE DIDN'T). "Well, life goes on" (DOES IT? My dad wasn't just a "loved one," he was everything. He. Was- fuck, do I hate this new tense- a force of a person, an angel on earth. In his 53 short years, he did more than most people do in 90, but somehow it feels even more unjust that he's gone now. He died from an aortic aneurysm. He went from being completely fine to dead, in 72 hours. Fuck, I can't contain this hatred. Words for no words.
The Running Junkie: February 2015
http://www.running-junkie.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 23. 3 mile sunny hike in Poway on Feb 11th. I've been pretty good at writing almost not at all about running-related things, though I think it's legitimate for me not to, given all that's happened. However, I have been running quite regularly, in addition to doing Jillian Michaels (JM) DVDs. It makes me feel normal to exercise, and keeping track of my activities makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something other than just existing. So for the sake of this running. I think I'll run the ...
The Running Junkie: September 2014
http://www.running-junkie.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 22. Running.Out of Time. I am crap at updating this. For some reason, I've been robbed of any and all motivation to do so this month, and mostly it's because I am running out of time to do anything other than work/study/eat/run. So, true to my lazy blogging style, here's a bullet pointed post with a little photo dump, to summarize the past 3-4 weeks of absence:. Kelsey, before one of our early morning runs, lookin mighty cute! I've run up to 16 miles! For some reason, I've been getting ...

Goooooooaaaaaaaaaal(s). | Run Monster
https://runmonster.wordpress.com/2014/05/27/goooooooaaaaaaaaaals
With an accompanying timeline. I fall somewhere on the former end of this spectrum, but as this post will show, I’m trying to change my ways. The thing is, when it comes to school my goals are often created for me along with a timeline (for example, complete a class and do well on the final; or, write master’s thesis and finish by May) and since I’m being held accountable for meeting those goals by other students and professors, I really feel like they are more or less continually on my mind. I also know...
I’m still here and kind of running. | Run Monster
https://runmonster.wordpress.com/2014/06/30/im-still-here-and-kind-of-running
I’m still here and kind of running. As Lina pointed out, it’s been a month since my last post. If I’m not mistaken, that’s the biggest lapse I’ve ever had with my posts. Tsk tsk. I’ll give an update about what’s been going on and let it serve as my (admittedly lame) excuse for not posting more. Well first, I almost titled this post ‘Irony’ because about two days after posting about my running goals. With my nieces in AZ. Without wanting to cry. I’m also going to try and take things easier because t...
Hot Chocolate 15k | Run Monster
https://runmonster.wordpress.com/2014/04/10/hot-chocolate-15k
Last year, I saw a few friends of mine from Arizona had participated in the Hot Chocolate 15/5k Race in Phoenix. It looked like such a cute race because rather than a shirt and a finisher’s medal, participants got a long sleeved tech hoodie and a mug of chocolate fondue with dippables. I looooove chocolate, so that was quite a selling point. I also thought 15k sounded like a cool distance. So when this race came to Philly, I signed up. Me with my chocolate swag. Ummmmm…slick observation, right? The third...

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. Photo credit: Barneys.com. Brooks Pure Connect 2’s. Photo credit: footwearonlinemall.com. Another great thing about the Pure Connect 2’s? You can now buy them for $60-$80 online. What a deal. I alternate the Pure Connect 2’s with another pair of traditional running shoes, the Mizuno Wave Prophecy 2’s. More on alternating shoes in a future post! Sulfate-free Shampoo and Conditioner. Specifically, Theorie Green Tea Collection. Photo credit: folica.com. My suspicions that my sulf...
Tyrunman.: Ironman Training: Week 1.857
http://tyruns.blogspot.com/2015/05/ironman-training-week-1857.html
TY (that's me). RUN (my favorite.when I'm not injured). IRONMAN (Maryland, 2015, done! Saturday, May 30, 2015. Ironman Training: Week 1.857. Welp, I'm in it. I've been "loosely" training for my Ironman for months now, just building up a base and working on my skill in swimming and cycling. But now, I'm officially in it. I'm in "the plan". My plan is a 20 week somewhat minimalist plan. Anyway, my training right now is, like I said, fairly consistent. Here's my week:. Rest, work either 7a-3p or 11a-7p.
“Who’s SarahOUaL?” <–?? | Sarah OUaL

Seeking the greener other side. 8220;Who’s SarahOUaL? 8221; –? 8220;Who’s SarahOUaL? 8221; –? Before anything else, I suppose I should explain the name. OUaL is an acronym – you know, Once Upon a Lime. Not MY name. I do answer to phonetic attempts (“. Owl”, “ooo-all”, etc. And get a kick out of heritage/etymology inquiries, though. Rest of details omitted for privacy/dignity reasons* *. Or fortunately, for those involved. Back in January 2010 I wrote the first entry. When we moved to California. Running ...

Phil Thow, Phillip Thow Blog. Running and Jogging Tips. January 8, 2014 Posted by Phillip Thow. A sort of physical training involving high intensity bursts of work is interval training. Alternating between periods of rest and lower activity then moving into intervals of high intensity work training makes for a high intensity workout. Coaches love interval training the most since it is effective to build up the cardiovascular system and it is able to make more qualified runners.

Monday, August 10. Injury Part 2/LifeRighNow Update. Was going to make this a long diatribe against the injustices of life, but decided I'd be short and sweet with the knee update. I re-tore the same ACL on my knee (the left) from the July 11th bouldering fall. The MRI was apparently pretty conclusive, and then a knee orthopedist looked at my knee and said the physical exam he did matched the MRI scan results. Soooo, I am getting knee surgery.AGAIN. Thrilling. In other (less depressing) news:.
