Running My Heart Out

Monday, March 5, 2012. It's been a while. It's been a while since I've written so I thought I'd do a quick update of the last few months. I'm not sure what got into me, but last year I decided to enter The Northface 100. Ever since then, I've just been panicked about it. It's not that I didn't think I could do it, I knew I could do it physically, I just wasn't sure I had the mental strength, or if I did, it would come at a cost to other areas in my life. It was such a hard decision. So in the meantime I ...

Running My Heart Out: July 2011

http://runningmyheartout.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 18, 2011. When you're all in it together. I knew I was going to do the next organised trail run no matter what obstacle may have been put before me. I just loved the last one! And I'd been inspired by the 6/12/24 hour runners the day before. They'd been running for most of Saturday and some where continuing on into the night and following morning. How could I not do a little 21kms trail run? I was the second one there. Always anxious to start! Slowly they started coming from all over the city.

Running My Heart Out: Yurebilla Stage Two

http://runningmyheartout.blogspot.com/2011/08/yurebilla-stage-two.html

Monday, August 15, 2011. In preparation for the Yurrebilla Trail Run 56km Ultra. I've been running the trial runs. The course has been split into three stages. The first was 16 1/2 kms long and was four weeks ago. The second was 17 1/2kms and was held last Saturday. I know, I have you all confused and I probably could have worded that much better but. That was fine when I didn't know what to expect, but having done that once before, I knew what to expect and wasn't looking forward to it. Magically, after...

Running My Heart Out: February 2011

http://runningmyheartout.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 23, 2011. The numbers still sound so small. So I managed a 3kms run yesterday and had set myself four for today. When I got to three, I stopped running but kept walking. I was disappointed because I'd set 4 for myself even though earlier in the week I was going to sit tight on 3. Anyhow, after walking 300metres or so, I set off running again and run the last kms, and then walked another 300metres or so. I do feel better and I know it's doing wonders for my singing voice! Yesterday and...

Running My Heart Out: March 2011

http://runningmyheartout.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Biggest running week in a while. I feel pretty good today because I'm almost back to my normal pre injury running. Almost. about 75% of the way there. I've run 42kms in the last five days and feel pretty good about it although, I'm also looking forward to a two day break now! I'm still not brave enough to venture outside. I don't think I'll cure that until I just ignore my fears and go out there. I just don't "feel" like a runner. I don't look like a runner. So for now I'll kee...

Running My Ass Off | Just another WordPress site

Running My Ass Off. Just another WordPress site. Start of Week 2, Marathon Training. I don’t avoif hills when I train. I actually like them as they push me to get just a little stronger on the runs. Sometimes on flat terrain, I will do a 10 second all-out sprint as part of my run, sprint, recover, sprint, recover. I am well aware that the more I tax myself, the more I will progress as an athelete. This week culminates in a long run of 6 miles. That seems long but I think I can do it. June 10, 2007. The o...

Running My Butt Off

Monday, July 13, 2015. Back by popular demand. I've had a few people reach out to me since I disappeared off the face of. What's funny is that I have at least 5 drafts going that I haven't finished and published! My current workout schedule looks like this:. Running My Half Off

Running My Half Off. One Mama's quest to complete a half marathon. Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Why is it that some days I can run at a solid 9:45-10minute pace and other days I struggle to stay at a 10:30-10:45 pace? I need consistency in my life. WHEN WILL RUNNING BE EASY? Phew, I feel a bit better now that I got that off my chest. Now, I was determined to run 9 miles in exactly 1hr 30 minutes.and then I got lost. The run itself was good not great, although when you have an AH-MAZING run like I did on ...

Running My Life

Steve’s Letter to Santa. December 4, 2014. The kid tells me you’re the guy to talk to about wishes. I don’t know a lot about Christmas because this is my first one. I don’t really get it – I’m not sure why they won’t let me eat those GIANT. Socks that are hanging up (LOOK at it – big and fuzzy and tasty! Or how a tree grew inside the living room (and what are those shiny things all over it, anyway? But the kid says you can wish for things at Christmas, so here I am. To learn. And a whole lotta don’ts .
