Running Toward Something New. I run for a lot of reasons, but most of all I run for me. April 13, 2015. Trying something new: Barre Code. I finally tried Barre Code. I’ve seen things about Barre for awhile. Honestly the thing that kept me away was the cost. Friends said it was a great workout and it’s not that I didn’t believe them it’s that I already pay for the YMCA and for a personal trainer. Thanks to OnMilwaukee. I came across a code for a free class. I thought, why not? Half Marathon Training, Again.

Running Toward Something New. I run for a lot of reasons, but most of all I run for me. March 28, 2015. March 28, 2015. I’m sitting here on a Saturday morning having already run my miles for the day. It was only five miles, but it was a wonderful five miles with no pain and I’m ready for more. I’m sitting here with three different race registration pages open. They are three different distances and I have different reasons for wanting to run all of them. The Race for the Bacon 5k. Cudahy Classic 10 Miler.

Hey Jo, while yer up. Random bits and pieces of me. Wednesday, November 27, 2013. Big Eddy and the Angels. This post is a long time in coming. Just never got around to taking the pictures off my phone. The meeting was being held at the historic Miller caves. The caves are where Frederick Miller first stored his brews over 150 years ago. It was a pretty cool (literally) place carved into the hillside. The theme for this month's meeting was Leinenkugel's and their Big Eddy series of beers. Next up was the ...

Hey Jo, while yer up. Random bits and pieces of me. Friday, December 26, 2014. Don't be the Asshole Neighbors. I live in a small-ish suburb of Milwaukee. Most of my neighbors are older people. I like that. They keep their house and yards up and don't do stupid shit. I talk to them, keep an eye out for them and help when they need it. But then there are the "others". You know them. They are the ones who just move into the neighborhood and disrupt the good juju of it. I guess I just don't understand why pe...

Hey Jo, while yer up. Random bits and pieces of me. Saturday, November 03, 2012. Some random thoughts on my vacation to Southern California. There are a lot of dentists in Tijuana, Mexico. The locals all had very bad teeth. Sunsets over the water are just as pretty as sunrises. The USS Midway was a big fucking boat. The HMS Queen Mary is also a big fucking boat. Endeavour is a cool space shuttle. Seeing it up close was breath taking. Parking anywhere in California SUCKS! Jay Leno was pretty cool. Califor...

Hey Jo, while yer up. Random bits and pieces of me. Friday, December 06, 2013. Five years ago today, my world was tossed upside down. You can read about it here. You don't expect to be 39 and wonder how will you go on. Some days, I am still sad. Some days, I am happy. Some days, I am still angry. Some days, I find that there is something I want to share with you. Some days, I wonder what might have been. Some days, I don't think about you at all. I think that Rufus still misses you. Hey Jo, while yer up. Random bits and pieces of me. Saturday, February 23, 2013. Remember when I last posted that I was going to do a boot camp? Well, I did it! And I didn't die. There were only four of us in the class with Tracey. It helped that I knew Laura and Nicole and "knew" Chelsey from twitter. I wasn't going to be surrounded by all these super fit people and I would feel like a lumbering ox. We ended it up with core ab work and stretching. It was fun class and Tracey kept us all motivated and fr...

Hey Jo, while yer up. Random bits and pieces of me. Tuesday, December 09, 2008. Randy, how do I go on? Knowing that you are gone. Things may not have been the best between us lately but I never stopped loving you. I never got to say that one more time. This wasn't supposed to work out this way. My heart is breaking and I don't know if it will ever heal. You went doing something that you loved. Playing poker. I never did go back online to see how you finished in that game. I love you. I will miss you.

Running Towards God | Musings of a Catholic chick who's running to win the imperishable crown.
Musings of a Catholic chick who's running to win the imperishable crown. March 25, 2016. The Cross: An Epic Failure. By all worldly standards, Jesus was a failure. Because, by all worldly standards, to fail is to suffer. To fail is to be powerless. To fail is to be weak. To fail is to be victimized, misunderstood, persecuted– to be deprived of pleasure, glory, advantage, status. I would submit that the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ, true God and true man, is the most scandalous event in human history.
