Luis & Fab's RV-7A Construction Log

Luis and Fab's RV-7A Construction Log. What's an RV? Think of a sports car, except when you pull on the wheel, the sports car does nothing! 8211; We have a tail and wings! November 5th, 2016. Ok, a couple more years have gone by, but there has definitely been progress in this little project. The wings are mounted temporarily, but all critical holes have been drilled, flaps have been fitted, and ailerons have been test-fitted, too. Lots of things still to do, roughly in this order:. Luis and Fab's RV-7A Construction Log. What's an RV? Think of a sports car, except when you pull on the wheel, the sports car does nothing! F-729 Rib (Vertical Rib on F-706 Bulkhead) October 11th, 2010. This rib mounts horizontally on the F-706 bulkhead. It helps strengthen the bulkhead and it also one of the attach points for the elevator bellcrank. Not much to it other than the rib itself and the reinforcement angle. Luis and Fab's RV-7A Construction Log. What's an RV? Think of a sports car, except when you pull on the wheel, the sports car does nothing! F-710 Bulkhead September 26th, 2010. The F-710 Bulkhead has a reinforcing angle across the top. In order to clear the longerons, the angle is notched at the ends. The idea is that the angle fits within the flanges of the F-710. And here is the entire bulkhead with angle clamped in place, ready for drilling. FeedBoth comments and pings are currently closed.

The flanges on the firewall point ‘down’, so I had to use a few pieces of plywood/MDF to make sure the flanges cleared the table. Assembling the Firewall Angles. June 29th, 2010. Once I had everything clecoed together, I noticed the two angles that have a pre-formed bend (F-601-N) did not fit very good. ...

Building our airplane

Now in the works. I'm Mike Raviv, 61, retired Mechanical Engineer and quite active aviation enthusiast. I live in Nesher, Israel. For many years I planned to build an airplane, now I got the time to do it. This is a family project, with all family members trying to help as much as time allows them. You'll meet them all in the following pages. So I'll try to keep this site simple and efficient, with minimum time invested in it. As I said, I want to build an airplane, not websites. PIC OF THE WEEK. Two rib...
