After nominating ourselves to tag along with the crew competing in the sports, Sarah was enlisted as the event Physio and Si assisted as general dogs-body for the CRP team. Saturday, November 28, 2009. Eid ul Azha, a 3 day muslim celebration known as the festival of sacrifice is today into its final day. Yesterday we joined in the family celebrations with our colleague, Rois. We decided to again don the local dress for the momentous occasion. Sarah enlisted the help of the security guard to get the sari right. The rickshaw and various other forms of local transport were no mean feat in a sari. Thursday, December 31, 2009. Christmas Day started with a Bangladeshi breakfast in our favoured local food barn. Roti, curried vegetables, omelettes (without chillies for the little one) and cha all round. Our guests patiently wait for dinner that was served on Bangla time (2 hours late). The last few times I've been was for work and we had box seats but those good old corporate days are over. Poor Hawthorne supporters, Sam and Hamish and my fellow Collingwood fan, Janine, waiting for the big game to start. The banners go up, players run through and the 85,000 strong crowd cheers them on. This photo was taken under the moonlight ( 5min exposure). Queensland weather finally lived up to its reputation with 20min/30max every day. Tezz and Howls. Summer 11/12. Thursday, July 14, 2011. Falls Creek between the Slack and Back-country. Snow season is back! Over 60cm fell over the week and we headed up to Mum's and Dad's place at Mt Beauty to earn some turns in the Falls Creek backcountry. Although it was only just 'backcountry' (just 300m from the toboggan slope), it qualified on two fronts: 1) it didn't cost $106 each for lift tickets; 2) fresh tracks.
