My basic 6PAC concept is two bottoms and four tops, two of which can be layered over the others. Or neutral linen shades from oatmeal to dark plus black. Whatever you do, deciding on a cohesive colour scheme is a) not dependent on sewing skills and b) will give a MUCH better results. PATTERN 1: Simple skirt, K2954. The Fabulous Dr. E's Fabulous Blog. Online fabric suppliers – UK/Europe. If you are a new reader, welcome to the blog! This blog documents my efforts and my thoughts on sewing. The Fabulous Dr. E's Fabulous Blog. Online fabric suppliers – UK/Europe. If I am famous for anything in the sewing world, it is for distilling the accumulated discussions of the group of talented and creative sewists at Stitcher’s Guild into a plan for co-ordinated wardrobe sewing. The original plan had six pieces and was conceived of for autumn, hence Six-Piece Autumn Collection or 6PAC. The acronym has a life of its own, so it is now used in every season. Here is the original post. From summer of 2009.

The colour fits in with my current clothes-making criteria; to have things in my wardrobe that go with as many of my self-made shoes as possible! Since I will be wearing only my own shoes this year and some of my shoes are kinda colourful and not basic. Actually I’ve just revised ...

I’ve been doing a little bit of sewing for Charlotte (who is now seven and a half) that I haven’t shown recently. The first is something I made for her “old-fashioned schooldays” day. I generally don’t like to sew costumes (although you can’t get away from Elsa. Because they wear them once or twice only and they are generally more work than ordinary clothes!

If you pick four colours (ideally 3 neutrals and an accent) in a year you *should* have a very easy wardrobe to pick from. But each season would still co-ordinate if you wanted to shift colours between seasons. Of course you could also knit various pieces. Or even buy them (but where’s the fun in that? Black, grey, white and red (classic urban! Over the year...
