My sewing inspired by Burda. 07/2010 Style 112 – Caftan. At the same time, I have an issue with my stash. It’s grown beyond designated bounds. I pulled all the black and grey fabrics off their shelf. Retrieved the pieces that weren’t on their shelf and planned my Winter 6PAC. That is, serge finished the edge. Stitch the side seam at 1/2″. Press the edges around the armholes at 1/2″ and then top stitch those into place. Easy, quick and looks great. Would I make it again?

I opted to lower the right bust dart 1″ (and crossed my fingers hoping I was right). I retrieved my armscye templates and redrew the right armscye. It’s knit with 2 strands of 2/24 acrylic yarn in a tuck stitch pattern that imitates cables or fisherman knits. Even with 2 strands of yarn, this is a light weight knit and does not have quite the depth of a hand knit fisherman’s Guernsey. The purl side becomes the right side although the knit side is also interesting. I used simple shapes or intended to use simple trapezoid shapes.
