Seams Odd, Louise: March 2015
http://seamsoddlouise.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sewing addict - sewing more clothes than I need since 2012. Saturday, 21 March 2015. It's Saturday, hurrah! Nothing to do, so it's going to be a lazy day with some sewing done (if I can distract my three little mess-makers). First, though, I want to show you all a fabulous make; I am in love with this dress. I am so happy with this make; if only it were in my size, I'd definitely wear it! The flowers are attached with Bonda-web and then freehand machine embroidered on top. I have to say I love it! It has...

Kathy Sews : McCall's 6884 Revisited: Everyday Cotton Jersey Summer Dress
http://www.kathy-sews.com/2015/07/mccalls-6884-revisited-everyday-cotton.html
Sunday, July 12, 2015. McCall's 6884 Revisited: Everyday Cotton Jersey Summer Dress. I've nearly worn out several such handmade breezy everyday summer dresses and it's time to re-stock the closet. I've whipped out several TNT patterns including this one, McCall's 6884, a faux wrap dress with ties around the waist. I picked up this mid-weight cotton/spandex jersey from one of my favorite online U.S. retail fabric shops with the initials FM. Corn, pumpkins, tomatoes, collards, plus weeds a-plenty, oh my!

July 18, 2015. I’m writing to you on a super sticky Saturday in New York– it’s a scorcher out there! Luckily, the sure-fire way to beat the heat, besides eating popsicles for every meal, is a new summer dress! This is the Xerea dress pattern. View B. I keep telling myself that I will never buy another pattern, never ever. But somehow, despite my best efforts to stop myself, this one landed in my cart! Be still, my beating heart! That topstitched seam isn’t supposed to be there… ooooops! Isn’t it go...

S1302: Mix’n’Match Tofino’s. Time for something easy to sew, thank you very much – there was a time not so very long ago I thought that if I even sewed a cushion cover in the next year, that would be too much, too soon. Couture techniques and hand sewing have been (temporarily) banished from the realm… and lets not even talk about this new law being 1 garment too late! These are the Sewaholic Tofino. Pj pants, and there were gasps of shock at Social Sewing. So because old habits die really, really hard (...

a campy blouse | McCalls 6512 – notes from a mad housewife

Notes from a mad housewife. Sewing happens here. sometimes other stuff… but mostly sewing. What i’ve made. A campy blouse McCalls 6512. July 20, 2015. July 21, 2015. I wanted to make a breezy summer top with a cotton voile I picked up at Joann’s. I went pattern diving in my stash and pulled out one I’ve had for years, but never sewed up McCalls 6512. I love all the details on this pattern and the unique style lines, I don’t know why I waited so long to sew it! A very loud alder shirtdress. July 20, 2015 ...

Savory Stitches: FO: Lady Lumberjack Archer
http://savorystitches.blogspot.com/2014/01/fo-lady-lumberjack-archer.html
Thursday, January 9, 2014. FO: Lady Lumberjack Archer. Anyway, armed with matching thread and buttons, I sewed this up yesterday. Other than a broken needle when I was trying to topstitch through a bazillion layers of flannel and a small error due to overzealous seam allowance trimming, it went together without a hitch. I put the collar together per Andrea's tutorial. Though I think Jen's method. My only regret is not cutting the cuffs on the bias, to match the button placket and yoke. Oh well. T...The p...

today's agenda: A Tale of Two Blazers: A Comparison Between M6172 and S2446
http://gksagenda.blogspot.com/2015/02/a-tale-of-two-blazers-comparison.html
About: a.k.a. The Over-Explainer. Tuesday, February 17, 2015. A Tale of Two Blazers: A Comparison Between M6172 and S2446. Well, hello there! Since my last post, I've been busy making 2 blazers. My friend Shar jokingly told me that I'm on the "Blazer a Month" program after I shared my sewing plans with her, and she's not far wrong! I've got several more planned. Although I'm not quite sure I need a dozen in my closet - that's probably overkill for a housewife! But they are just so darn fun to make - most.

Kathy Sews : McCall's 6713: A Dress for Travelling... And Some Catching Up
http://www.kathy-sews.com/2015/06/mccalls-6713-dress-for-travelling-and.html
Sunday, June 7, 2015. McCall's 6713: A Dress for Travelling. And Some Catching Up. So I've been pretty busy travelling and running and what not in the past weeks. But I made time to sew up this totally awesome dress specifically for travel. I've worn it more times then I want to confess since I made it a couple weeks ago. I used McCall's 6713. It is a really simple little dress that had a lined bodice. Even though I blogged about this dress for Fabric Mart. I ran a 1/2 marathon people! North Carolina....

Seams Odd, Louise: New Look 6145 - Mark 2
http://seamsoddlouise.blogspot.com/2015/06/new-look-6145-mark-2.html
Sewing addict - sewing more clothes than I need since 2012. Sunday, 28 June 2015. New Look 6145 - Mark 2. It's been three weeks since my last sew, but I'm feeling okay about it. A week ago, I was strangled by this lack of creativity, but I know now this hiatus will pass. I do have something to share, though: a blouse that somehow escaped the blog previously. There is just enough in the tiny scraps for the bodice of a little girl's dress too! Again, I made this without adding a zip; frankly, I wonder why ...
