We threw a Sweet Sixteen bash for my middle daughter last weekend and the theme was "The Mad Hatter's Tea Party." So for the last month or so, we've been getting ready, by painting signs like the ones above, making tall flowers like the ones below (from pool noodles and tissue paper! But now I need a vacation! The collage of my life: A work in progress. Friday, September 12, 2014. The person who received my bag of goodies was unable to attend the meeting due to a family emergency, so next month I get to see what she made. Something to look forward to! I'm not sure if I'll make these into a book or some kind of wall hanging. They are certainly too beautiful to be stuck in a drawer somewhere, don't you agree? Wednesday, September 3, 2014. The collage of my life: A work in progress. Sunday, June 22, 2014. Jane Davila, the facilitator of the FANE group I meet with monthly, had an idea for a fun summer swap project. All the participants put some craft items into a brown lunch bag and then we all swapped bags. I won't show you what I put in my bag, but above is a photo of the supplies I received: some stamps, some glass beads, and some soft paper flower embellishments. Here is the white fabric with the flowers stamped on:. I ironed some of th...

Once Easter was over, I was able to spend my days off buckling down on the applique of the grape hyacinths (don't you just love a lawn inundated with grape hyacinths in early spring? Hope I can keep the momentum going for the next two weeks. I think these panels are lovely, Cindy! We want to see them all! April 15, 2015 at 7:47 PM. April 16, 2015 at 9:20 AM.

The collage of my life: A work in progress. Saturday, January 31, 2015. Last Day of January. January is probably my least favorite month of the year and it always seemed soooo loooong. Between the end of the holiday festivities and the beginning of the frigid winter weather, January always seemed so bleak and unending. But the days, weeks and months seem to be passing more quickly than ever, and here it is, January 31st already! Where did the month go? Tuesday, January 27, 2015. And since we had enough a...

The collage of my life: A work in progress. Saturday, February 28, 2015. Every few days, I see the weather forecast, hoping that it will show a warming trend. And every forecast for the whole month has been the same: cold, cold, and more cold! I keep thinking, it can't go on much longer, but tomorrow is the first of March and we are looking forward to another 6 inches of snow. Sheesh! And here's where it's headed. I intend to add another bird in flight and a nest among the branches. The days just fly by!

Sunday, July 4, 2010. An Arty Play Day. Back in May, our group sponsored an Arty Play Day for interested and available members. It was held in a local high school's chemistry lab, which was perfect - running water and indestructible surfaces. We had plenty of room to spread out and everyone worked on their own project/process for the day. It was fantastic and we all got a lot done while having a great time. Joyce prepared to wet-felt some fibers together. Barbara tried her hand at shaving cream marbling.
