Saturday, 23 May 2015. In Year 1, as part of our Andy Ant’s Allotment project, we have had the fantastic opportunity to watch the lifecycle of a butterfly first hand. The children have observed over the last 4 weeks how the caterpillars have grown and grown before creating their chrysalises. Thursday, 3 October 2013. Our trip to Build a Bear and Waterstones. Year R had a fantastic day yesterday when they visited the Build a Bear Workshop and Waterstones. The children loved travelling by coach. There were a number of excited squeals! At Waterstones we looked at different 'Bear' stories. We also discussed the different areas of the book store. Friday, 13 March 2015. The Twits and Healthy Eating! The children are currently really enjoying our topic on one of Roald Dahl's famous books The Twits. We were lucky enough to get a surprise visit from Mr and Mrs Twit themselves on World Book Day. They came into our classrooms asking us for some help because they wanted to start to live a healthy life. Wednesday, 15 July 2015. So here's the review of "Jour Trois" of our French adventure. Although we woke up to rain first thing this morning, we were in good spirits after a good nights sleep and another mammoth breakfast. Having made our own lunch again (we're getting good at this! We think the children may have kept Oreos in business for the next few years! This was followed by a beautiful trip to the beach where the children played games and basketball, and ordered more (yes, more! Ice cream in French!

Friday, 27 March 2015. Longdown Dairy Farm - Thursday 26 March 2015. Monday, 23 March 2015. Watch Our Chicks Hatching. Our eggs arrived on Monday 16 March and everyone was very excited! On Wednesday 18 March, 3 of the 10 eggs started to hatch. We set up a video camera over night to watch this happening. We were very lucky to have 9/10 very healthy, young, fluffy chicks! Thursday, 30 January 2014. This week Year R have been learning about China and celebrating Chinese New Year. We watched a video clip of a Chinese Dragon dance and discussed the different movements. We then made up our own Chinese Dragon dances in our P.E. lesson. We talked about the instruments we could hear in the Dragon Dance music and used these instruments in our Chinese New Year song.
