The Uncommon Thread: January 2011
http://uncommon-thread.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Musings on knitting and life. Monday, 31 January 2011. Chocolate, figs and Veera. What else is there? I have two recipes I have been meaning to share with you for a while. The first is incredibly decadent - chocolate covered figs. No sweat, though, it's really easy:. 12-15 dried figs, stems removed. Cocoa powder to dust. Once the chocolate is hard, dust with the cocoa powder. Yummy! I have to give credit where it's due: this recipe is from my friend Rachida, an absolute genius in the kitchen. View my com...

The Uncommon Thread: Reading Along
http://uncommon-thread.blogspot.com/2012/08/pppsssssssssttttttttt.html
Musings on knitting and life. Wednesday, 8 August 2012. While plotting and planning what knitting I'll be taking to France with me during my holiday I've got one definite plan sorted: what to read. I rarely have time to read these days between the shop, looking after family and KNITTING. However, I had a great recommendation from another knitter and I love it when that happens so I have a book ready to enjoy. Beth Kling, the designer behind the fabulous Occitan. Now I just need to decide on some knitting.

The Uncommon Thread: Testing...
http://uncommon-thread.blogspot.com/2012/08/testing.html
Musings on knitting and life. Saturday, 11 August 2012. When I get a new base that I'm interested in stocking or a new colourway that I want to introduce, I really like to test it out and see how the yarn feels or the colour knits up. It's a really nice part of the creative process of dyeing as I want knitters and crafters to love the end product as much as the first moment they laid eyes on their skein to work with. Please keep an eye for news on the Ravelry Group's News Thread. 12 August 2012 at 09:55.

The Uncommon Thread: November 2010
http://uncommon-thread.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Musings on knitting and life. Friday, 19 November 2010. So, I haven't blogged for a while. I've been busy, I've opened the shop. Have been dyeing quite a bit and knitting too, of course. I have finished a few projects that I've not been able to photograph yet as my photographer is only around at the weekends and light has been truly dire here. One project I did photograph was Green Boy. Because I didn't have to wear it! I'm now test knitting Heidi Kirrmaier's Atelier. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Musings on knitting and life. Tuesday, 24 July 2012. There's been some lovely designs shared in our Ravelry group design thread and I noticed that a regular in our group, Ceciknits, has a few patterns using TUT yarns. I just had to share them here as they are really stylish and great single skein projects (You can see a recent FO from Ceci in this month's FO parade. Too- she's quite the knitter). One project I know had been very popular since its creation is ' A Thousand Splendid Suns. Find me on Ravelry.

After much internal debate (oh, ok. It went in quite wet...

The Uncommon Thread: May 2011
http://uncommon-thread.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Musings on knitting and life. Wednesday, 11 May 2011. You know, I have been feeling mighty lucky of late. I have a wonderful son, a job I love, great friends and I am part of a fantastic online community which is a great source of inspiration to me. In fact, if it wasn't for this community I would not have the job I love, or as many friends or even be writing this. Of course you know I mean Ravelry. In September last year I started selling hand dyed fibre and soon after hand dyed yarn on my etsy shop.
