Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts

Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts. Wednesday, February 22, 2012. It's Been A while. My husband decided he wanted to raise honey bees. We started learning all we could and then jumped in. We have 9 hives now and in spite of the dry weather last year we managed to harvest a small amount of honey. This spring we've had plenty of rain and everything is blooming so we are hopeful of having a good year and getting lots of honey. Posted by no one here. Thursday, October 16, 2008. Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts: June 2008

http://www.stitchinghandsandhappyhearts.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts. Monday, June 30, 2008. I didn't get a chance to show a picture of my new design: Saint Jude, #214. Posted by no one here. Friday, June 27, 2008. A few weeks ago I sent off several pieces that I had stitched to one of my favorite finishers, The Spinning Wheel. I had him finished as a simple box. I think I will find some Christmas ribbon to wrap around the outside edge of the box and then it will be perfect. The second piece is Saint Claire. Saint Jude is the patron saint ...

Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts: I Did It !!!

http://www.stitchinghandsandhappyhearts.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-did-it.html

Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts. Wednesday, August 27, 2008. I finished stitching on my Bluebird of Happiness canvas last night. I took a deep breath this morning and trimmed the edges, worked the piece into place and applied the fabric glue. Just like that I had a finished wallet. How fantastic is that? Posted by no one here. Is this for you? August 27, 2008 at 7:27 PM. August 27, 2008 at 8:25 PM. This is really really nice - it's good to see you working again! August 28, 2008 at 7:33 AM.

Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts: December 2007

http://www.stitchinghandsandhappyhearts.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html

Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts. Monday, December 31, 2007. This is one of my twelve Door Tassel designs, #84, Neptune's Daughter. Even the name was perfect. This stitch worked up quickly and it was easy to count around the design. Usually I have a hard and fast rule of doing the background first, but since I couldn't decide on the stitch I wanted to use I worked other areas while I thought about the background. Posted by no one here. Tuesday, December 18, 2007. Posted by no one here. And I have been di...

Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts: May 2008

http://www.stitchinghandsandhappyhearts.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts. Wednesday, May 21, 2008. This is the third and final piece that Summer Truswell finished for me. If you remember, this is the piece I was working on in the back of my husbands truck as he drove us to and from the January TNNA show. I finished it up after we got home. I added the border and the saying:. I planned on giving her the pillow for her Christmas present. That puts me way ahead of the Christmas curve to say the least. Posted by no one here. Monday, January 25, 2010. Patterns of the Orient. This is a glorious, though challenging, piece from Tony Minieri. It's a study in Chinese, Japanese and Korean textiles. Each area represents a different pattern used in contemporary and ancie. Nt fabrics. I think I'm enjoying it . some days it's way over my head. Posted by Nimble Thimble. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Ok… | Simply Joy

The joys of my life…needlework, home, family and friends. 8230;I’ve been gone a long time. I don’t even know if anyone visits anymore. However, I have been stitching…a bit. Right now, I’ve lost my counted thread mojo in favor of Japanese embroidery and needlepoint. I will post some photos here very shortly. Well, the air conditioners are in the master bedroom and in the living room…so it gets warmer than I like in the stitching room. Hope all is well with every stitcher in blogland. 🙂 Have a fun retreat!

Quilting and Sewing projects. Mary’s Quilt Projects. August 4, 2015. Log Cabin Cross banner 25×35″. Details on the pattern and construction – here. Project cost was about $40. This was a small project and I only purchased 1 yard of the outer border fabric, and then 1/2 yards of the other fabrics. I might have gotten away with a 1/4 yard purchase, and my favorite Quilt Store would cut 2″ if that is what I wanted! I wanted it to be ready for delivery! Princess dress Butterick pattern # B4320. A Stitching Grandma

Monday, August 17, 2015. This was a productive week as I had three finishes as well as a start. First, the finishes:. You can find the details about these finishes in their individual Happy Dance posts. The start doesn't look like much yet, but there's only about an hour or two done on it (with some frogging involved). It's Ballerina - Mindy from Cherished Teddies Sports and Occupations, Vol. 1. This is what it should look like when it's finished. And this is what it looks like now. This is stitched on 1...

Stitching GRITS

Monday, June 3, 2013. Since I had so many leftover threads from the Santa canvas, I was able to stitch this entirely with stash threads. Yay! Again, I tried to stick to the stitch guide as much as possible, not so much to maintain the integrity of the design, but more so I try out new stitches that I normally wouldn't do. The tricky part for me was the background. Nothing was drawn on the canvas so I measured out what I thought would work. Looking at it, it's a little big, but oh well. I also...I really ...

A blog about stitching in whatever form I fancy at the time, all this takes place in my box room sanctuary. Friday, 2 January 2015. Missed you so much. Having said that, I've been none stop crocheting. So I have lots to show you :). This was so much fun and was a pram/buggy size so didn't take long. I just wanted to experiment with this stitch, Loved this little bag, but it could do with a lining to give it some sturdiness. And who doesn't like a hat? Thursday, 10 July 2014. GIVE ME A WAVE. Tuesday, 18 August 2015. We decided that our meeting last week would be a sorting and organising day. You will all know the feeling of cupboards and boxes stuffed to overflowing so much so that you can't find anything. More news is that at the next meeting, a representative from the Inner Wheel, an International Service Organisation for Women, will come for a visit. This organisation is looking to support our group in some way. These are the completed quilts which came in this time. Robin. We met last we...
