Ok…remember when I said I overdid it on Day 5 with the macadamia nuts and raisins? Well, it turns out my stomach problems didn’t have anything to do with what I ate that day at all. In fact, the problem persisted and got worse on Day 10 and I hadn’t even so much as sniffed a macadamia or a raisin. Posted on May 3, 2013, in Diet.

I started a new job and life became very busy and active. The results are in and it’s a mixed bag of good and bad. First, let’s recap the last days of my Whole30. The best part is I lost 10 pounds! I also reduced my measurements on nearly every part of my body except my arms. Not surprisingly, my abdomen ha...

Days 14 through 21. As you may already know from reading my blog, three years ago I found Jillian Michael’s book, Master Your Metabolism, and I began following her recommendations for dietary changes. One of the most astounding things that occurred during that transition was my face cleared up. I mean CLEARED UP! At this point...

Bridge to 10k (W1D2) | wait... i'm running?!
https://waitimrunning.wordpress.com/2012/11/14/bridge-to-10k-w1d2
A chronicle of my attempt to fall in love with running… and some other stuff too. Wait… i'm running? Bridge to 10k (W1D2). I’m pretty exhausted, so here’s a quick run down of Week 1, Day 2…. My bridge was closed! MUCH better today… thank goodness! Though my lungs revolted against me a few times on the hills, it was a pretty good run. Week 1, Day 2 (sans warm up). So far so good. I think I might like the Defyance 5’s a little better, but the Ghost 5’s are pretty comfy, too. Tags: bridge to 10k. Happy and ...

A chronicle of my attempt to fall in love with running… and some other stuff too. Wait… i'm running? A WAY overdue update! Wow… The past 3 weeks have been crazy, and I’ve been a HUGE slacker in so many ways! Work stress, a jam packed schedule outside of work, boy drama, and… oh yeah… a hurricane and a snow storm a week apart! And other things I shouldn’t have been eating in the quantities I did… ha ha…. The slope is still negative… everything is a-okay! I ended up going with Brooks Ghost 5’s. This time&#...

A chronicle of my attempt to fall in love with running… and some other stuff too. Wait… i'm running? Bridge to 10k (W1D1). With my 5k (plus a few weeks of slacking) behind me, yesterday I started my new running venture… Bridge to 10k! Thankfully I was totally wrong! The first and second ten minutes were great! Even with the walking, my pace was pretty decent, and I didn’t let a little pain stop me. Also, if it weren’t for my stupid knee, I totally could have run the whole time! Tags: bridge to 10k. A chronicle of my attempt to fall in love with running… and some other stuff too. Wait… i'm running? So… It’s been ages since I’ve posted on here, but I just couldn’t resist after this morning…. I RAN THE NYC HALF MARATHON! It’s been quite a journey since I started Couch to 5k back in July. A little over 8 months ago I couldn’t run for 2 minutes without getting winded. Crazy…. And now it’s time to relax. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Nyc half marathon '13. Bridge to 10k (W1D3). March 18, 2013 at 17:57. A curv...

Sunday, May 11, 2014. The journey to a mosquito free life.or at least back yard. Two summers ago we discovered that our new home was appropriately remembered as "the mosquito house" by the home inspectors for a reason. Walking from the car to the back door meant at least 4-5 mosquito bites. Tactic 1. Destroy their favorite habitat. To put it in ...
