Thursday, October 23, 2014. Math Stations and a Freebie! For the first time in a year, I FINALLY feel like I've got the math station mojo! I have the kids rotate in groups, and the thing that I love I'm not one of the groups. This has freed me up to pull kiddos as needed. I mean, I can watch them do something, say "oh wow, they don't know how to do that," and then pull them aside and help them with it! Here's what I did for our counting unit:. 2-Students rotate through 4 math tubs and the computers/iPad.

Wednesday, August 19, 2015. What I changed to make my first week a success. Last week was probably the best first week of school I've ever had! My new friends are a sweet little group, and I think we're going to have a great year together! Plus, I had to endure these questions all day:. Can I play with the playdough? Can I play with the Legos? Can I play on the computer? That's when I realized that all my kids really wanted to do was PLAY! So this year, I LET THEM! Art (markers and paper). It gave them t...

August 16, 2015 at 3:56 PM. I bought the animals a few weeks ago. Posted about it because I know some people never shop there. Such a good deal and SO CUTE! I was just at Kohls today and they still had tons left. Sometimes leftovers are online for $2.50. I got a few Dr. Seuss ones like that. Have fun cutting! View my complete profile.

Wednesday, June 3, 2015. June's Pick 3 Pins Linky. Oh, I am so happy to be at this point in the year. As I type, I have less than two weeks of school to go. Things are very uncertain in my district right now, as in many, and none of us know what we will come back to. I am just concentrating on giving my little kiddos the funnest last few days I can. I chose one that appealed to Fashionista Kathleen, Chef Kathleen, and Designer Kathleen. Hope you enjoy them, too! And thanks so much to Lisa and Marissa for...

Correction, her daddy would be building her castle around her. It was one of her favorite things to do with her daddy. We had a LOT of megablocks. :). She was a fashionista from an early age. what else can I say? So was Levi. It must run in the family. Count them. 4 kids! August 13, 2015 at 8:10 PM. My Bright Blue House.

http://dontlettheteacher.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Check Out Some of my Favorite Books! Tuesday, December 30, 2014. This is my second year participating in this linky, and it's always fun to reflect and join! Haha, I love Paramore! And I get so tired of people whining and complaining (students and adults). This song was just great, and I actually made my own printable (not this one) to stick in my classroom. Yes. Really. So far no one's cried about it. I embraced the leggings this year, but my favorite has become chunky sweaters! This one is easy! I've b...

Not very fancy: Back to School Thoughts

http://not-very-fancy.blogspot.com/2015/08/back-to-school-thoughts.html

Saturday, August 15, 2015. Back to School Thoughts. The first day of school only happens once a year, so it takes lots of years of teaching to make it work the way you want. (At least I assume you actually get it the way you want eventually! I'm seeing lots of how to guides for teachers. This isn't really a how to guide. Writing helps me clarify my thoughts. Sometimes hearing others reflect helps me, so I'm sharing them with you. :). I'm trying to figure out exactly what is the most important. 3 I want n...

Check Out Some of my Favorite Books! Sunday, July 19, 2015. Mo, I love you, but. I think we need to take a break. Trust me, it hurts me far more than it will you. You see, I have a little boy, and he adores the pigeon! I mean, I was the one who fostered this love. He also is a huge fan of Elephant and Piggie. The problem is that he's become a threenager who is now using your words against me. Granted, it's really funny, I have to stop him from telling people, "Okay, FINE! Right here, right now! Teacher Audrey Home

I am the writer Audrey Nolte Painter. I tell stories for pleasure, not to teach. Stories happen to be a good way to teach English in China. And excellent to teach Mathematics to teenagers. Stories about Africa are fascinating, even for those who live there, for I watched them unfold with my own eyes. Many are larger than life, as all stories should be. I travel often: these stories are true. Travel with me via the Demspter Highway to where the road ends in the town of Inuvik. In Canada, winter of 2009.
