Running Towards 40 and Beyond!: January 2015
http://andypearson935.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Running Towards 40 and Beyond! Wednesday, 21 January 2015. Brass Monkey's - It certainly was! Vet 40 in 74 minutes 18 seconds. I’m really pleased with the time because it shows that in terms of fitness levels I am in decent shape. The way I ran the race was a lot stronger overall and more in control of my pace at the end – no hanging on for the last few miles which was always a feature of my early half marathons. So in terms of the build up to the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon things are going well&#...

Smileyrunner: On judging pace
http://smileyrunner.blogspot.com/2013/03/on-judging-ones-pace.html
Not far. Not fast. But for fun. Monday, 11 March 2013. My programme today called for 12.5km (8 miles ish) at 5:32 mins/km (roughly 9 min miles). At my current level, this is not easy, but should be doable. So I set off in the freezing. Ah well. Sod it. It's not as if there aren't more important things to fret over. I did the run in 1:08:23 at an average moving pace, according to Garmin, of 5:26 min/k. As close as I'm going to get! 13 March 2013 at 04:14. Are you in training for something specific hf?

Smileyrunner: January 2012
http://smileyrunner.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Not far. Not fast. But for fun. Sunday, 15 January 2012. What a difference the sun makes. Earlier in the week I got the opportunity to take my friend Peter's dog for a run up and around Potter Fell. She's called Jess and, like all collies, she goes potty at the thought of playing with any toy. And of investigating any body of water. She's a great dog, even returning to me on command - probably the reduced fat chicken and beef doggie treats in my bum bag had something to do with it! Sunday, 1 January 2012.

Smileyrunner: November 2011
http://smileyrunner.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Not far. Not fast. But for fun. Thursday, 24 November 2011. How to fool a Garmin. I've no idea how far I went because the Garmin took over 7 minutes to locate the satellites. At one point it pointedly asked me 'Are you indoors? On answering 'No', a spark lit up its little brain and it asked 'Have you travelled hundreds of miles since last use? All in all, a super little run - and another town to add to my list of places I've run in. Saturday, 12 November 2011. All in all, a top run for a lovely day.

Running Towards 40 and Beyond!: March 2015
http://andypearson935.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Running Towards 40 and Beyond! Tuesday, 17 March 2015. For me I had two goals that were within my control. The first was to go under 2 hours for the first time if nothing else to have that badge of honour on my Power of 10 profile. The second was to finish the race strongly and not feel like I was just "hanging on'. Meanwhile over in Spen? Talk about a storm in a teacup! Andy Pearson's running blog. Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Running Towards 40 and Beyond! Monday, 20 April 2015. You cannot really say that you've had the perfect build up to a marathon unless you run the perfect race. You can also not assume that you will have the perfect race even with a perfect build up. I'm almost certain you can't run a perfect race without a decent build up but when the build up is good and the race is well executed then that's when special things happen. Running Towards 40 and Beyond!: Manchester Marathon Build Up
http://andypearson935.blogspot.com/2015/02/manchester-marathon-build-up.html
Running Towards 40 and Beyond! Sunday, 15 February 2015. Manchester Marathon Build Up. After the Brass Monkey the aim was to get a decent block of training under my belt with no distractions with the aim of increasing the long runs from the bases of 16/18 miles to 21/22 miles whilst maintaining some quality. The long runs have felt consistently easier with a 21 mile, 18 mile, 20 mile and a 22 mile run over the four weeks. The. Andy Pearson's running blog. Sunday, February 15, 2015.
