The Adventures of Runningbear: CurlyWurly Heaven

http://theadventuresofrunningbear.blogspot.com/2011/10/ampleforth-7-was-second-race-in-as-many.html

The Adventures of Runningbear. Monday, 10 October 2011. Ampleforth 7 was the second race in as many weeks after what seems like yonks off from proper racing. The combination of a gammy leg and new-job-syndrome have taken their toll this summer. [That and being trapped in a Chewy Soft Chocolate Heaven;. And some serious training and racing is needed. This tidy and low key race was another chance to toughen up this ageing boot and get some hard tempo miles in the legs. This week in trainers. About Me @ @ @.

The Adventures of Runningbear: Soon

http://theadventuresofrunningbear.blogspot.com/2012/03/soon.html

The Adventures of Runningbear. Sunday, 18 March 2012. Lots of things have been on hold, or paused for weeks and months now. The winter has whispered past with me barely noticing as life tumbles on in this never ending washing cycle of annoying stuff, like surveys and solicitor bills. The new home is almost in sight just a couple more weeks and we can return to those fond routines, back on the sunny road to running fitness with some bits of DIY in between. Monday, March 19, 2012 12:20:00 pm. Drop Me A Lin...

The Adventures of Runningbear: Sunday trot

http://theadventuresofrunningbear.blogspot.com/2012/12/sunday-trot.html

The Adventures of Runningbear. Sunday, 2 December 2012. I realised last week that it's now over a year since my last race. It's been twelve months of very little running, lots of house renovating and eating fairly badly as we cope without a proper kitchen. Time now to take stock of my emerging tubbiness, grit my teeth and get the trainers back on. Monday, December 03, 2012 8:27:00 am. Wondered where youd moved to RB! There was some very icy pavements at 6-30am this morning in your old stomping ground.

Running Towards 40 and Beyond!: January 2015

http://andypearson935.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Running Towards 40 and Beyond! Wednesday, 21 January 2015. Brass Monkey's - It certainly was! Vet 40 in 74 minutes 18 seconds. I’m really pleased with the time because it shows that in terms of fitness levels I am in decent shape. The way I ran the race was a lot stronger overall and more in control of my pace at the end – no hanging on for the last few miles which was always a feature of my early half marathons. So in terms of the build up to the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon things are going well&#...

Smileyrunner: April 2013

http://smileyrunner.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Not far. Not fast. But for fun. Monday, 1 April 2013. Smileyrating 8/10 - it was great to be running on the hills again. Today, I was hoping to go to the track to do some 1000m reps. But the track was shut! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Run for your life. The Adventures of Runningbear. View my complete profile. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.

Smileyrunner: On judging pace

http://smileyrunner.blogspot.com/2013/03/on-judging-ones-pace.html

Not far. Not fast. But for fun. Monday, 11 March 2013. My programme today called for 12.5km (8 miles ish) at 5:32 mins/km (roughly 9 min miles). At my current level, this is not easy, but should be doable. So I set off in the freezing. Ah well. Sod it. It's not as if there aren't more important things to fret over. I did the run in 1:08:23 at an average moving pace, according to Garmin, of 5:26 min/k. As close as I'm going to get! 13 March 2013 at 04:14. Are you in training for something specific hf?

Smileyrunner: January 2012

http://smileyrunner.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Not far. Not fast. But for fun. Sunday, 15 January 2012. What a difference the sun makes. Earlier in the week I got the opportunity to take my friend Peter's dog for a run up and around Potter Fell. She's called Jess and, like all collies, she goes potty at the thought of playing with any toy. And of investigating any body of water. She's a great dog, even returning to me on command - probably the reduced fat chicken and beef doggie treats in my bum bag had something to do with it! Sunday, 1 January 2012.

Smileyrunner: November 2011

http://smileyrunner.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Not far. Not fast. But for fun. Thursday, 24 November 2011. How to fool a Garmin. I've no idea how far I went because the Garmin took over 7 minutes to locate the satellites. At one point it pointedly asked me 'Are you indoors? On answering 'No', a spark lit up its little brain and it asked 'Have you travelled hundreds of miles since last use? All in all, a super little run - and another town to add to my list of places I've run in. Saturday, 12 November 2011. All in all, a top run for a lovely day.

Running Towards 40 and Beyond!: March 2015

http://andypearson935.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Running Towards 40 and Beyond! Tuesday, 17 March 2015. For me I had two goals that were within my control. The first was to go under 2 hours for the first time if nothing else to have that badge of honour on my Power of 10 profile. The second was to finish the race strongly and not feel like I was just "hanging on'. Meanwhile over in Spen? Talk about a storm in a teacup! Andy Pearson's running blog. Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Monday, 9 March 2015. 6 weeks and Counting. Tuesday - an easy 3 mile run in the m...

Running Towards 40 and Beyond!: April 2015

http://andypearson935.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Running Towards 40 and Beyond! Monday, 20 April 2015. You cannot really say that you've had the perfect build up to a marathon unless you run the perfect race. You can also not assume that you will have the perfect race even with a perfect build up. I'm almost certain you can't run a perfect race without a decent build up but when the build up is good and the race is well executed then that's when special things happen. Running Towards 40 and Beyond!: Manchester Marathon Build Up

http://andypearson935.blogspot.com/2015/02/manchester-marathon-build-up.html

Running Towards 40 and Beyond! Sunday, 15 February 2015. Manchester Marathon Build Up. After the Brass Monkey the aim was to get a decent block of training under my belt with no distractions with the aim of increasing the long runs from the bases of 16/18 miles to 21/22 miles whilst maintaining some quality. The long runs have felt consistently easier with a 21 mile, 18 mile, 20 mile and a 22 mile run over the four weeks. The. Andy Pearson's running blog. Sunday, February 15, 2015. The Adventures of Runningbear

The Adventures of Runningbear. Saturday, 23 March 2013. Spring is here. Had hoped to we might continue some light running in our third attempt at a fitness comeback since taking on this massive project. The continuous onslaught of snow has scuppered plans this week but we may brave the drifts today after a belated investment in YakTrax. I fear we might drown in the giant drifts.
