Aug 15, 2013. Social. a gastropub. On my second-to-last weekday of summer, I couldn't resist treating myself to lunch at one of Perrysburg's fantastic local restaurants. I got into my car, headed in the direction of Northwest Ohio's best destination for craft brew and eats. Then, it hit me. Social. a gastropub," a few minutes in the other direction, opened a few days ago. I was curious. Not anxious, in a way that I thought, "How cute. Another attempt at mimicking Swig. A gastropub, anyway? Gastropub's fi...

Feb 5, 2014. Speed work: I did it! Last week I promised myself that I would begin doing speed work this week on Tuesday. We got more crazy snowfall over the weekend which made me worry that it wouldn't happen. Then, during the Super Bowl, a friend revealed that she's got a treadmill in her basement and that I'm welcome to use it any time. Boo-yah! Warm-up: 1 mile @ 6.5 mph. 6x 1/2 mile @ 8 mph. 1/4 mile @ 6 mph recovery between repeats (5x). Cool down: 3/4 mile @ 6 mph. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

maintaining said awesomeness: Wellness Screening 2014
http://maintainingsaidawesomeness.blogspot.com/2014/03/wellness-screening-2014.html
Mar 12, 2014. Yesterday I got something awesome in the mail. This time, I destroyed it. Also, a woman destroyed my arm. Anywho, I screwed up the morning of the screening. On my way to school I stopped at Starbucks for a nonfat latte. I arrived at work, did my regular morning stuff, and at 8:00 plopped myself into my office chair. I opened my Franklin Covey Planner to February 28th, took my first swig of latte, and scanned through my tasks. A1: Wellness screening @ 7:50. Here are the highlights:. I only d...

Mar 24, 2014. Great Black Swamp Festival of Races 25K. That's a long event name. It reminds me of this:. A solid tech tee. The Great Black Swamp Festival of Races offered distances of 5K, 15K, and 25K. It might have been wiser with consideration to marathon training to only run the 15K because we were only supposed to have run a long run of 12 miles this week. Nevertheless I chose the 25K for us because, like I said, I like the distance. I wanted to attempt a PR, too. That's how we look wh. Mar 17, 2014.

maintaining said awesomeness: Where's the love, runners?
http://maintainingsaidawesomeness.blogspot.com/2014/03/where-love-runners.html
Mar 17, 2014. Wheres the love, runners? Last night I spent an hour sitting with Joe, drinking wine, watching the first episode of Crisis, and taking part in #runchat on the Twitter for the first time. It was a relaxing way to unwind from a weekend that went from good to shit. I'm still telling myself to get over the latter. You have no right to put a 26.2 magnet on your car if you've only run one marathon. If you run a marathon slower than I do, it devalues my hard work. I can't make up this stuff!

Dec 17, 2013. Santa Hustle Cedar Point 2013. Joe and I ran the second annual Santa Hustle at Cedar Point on this past Sunday. We had a hell of a trip out to Sandusky on Saturday night with a half-foot of snow having fallen throughout the day. Really different from last year's conditions, which were 50 degrees and sunny. Still, music was better than the silence from last year. Later that afternoon on the way home I checked the race results to see where we finished in our age groups. 1) The waves in the st...

Jun 4, 2013. Rules for Parents of Children in School. Reality, however, is a biznatch. I'm sorry, I don't know that off of the top of my head, but I can check when I get up to my room.". This morning, there she was at my door with her son as I was preparing materials for the final exam that my students would be taking in a matter of about 10 minutes. May 29, 2013. Kip Boulis Memorial 5K. You may have been wondering, "Where is Krista's Cleveland Marathon race recap? Well, I'm not ready to talk about that yet. It was bad- very, very bad. Instead of writing about it, I have chosen to do what I need to do to move on. The Kip Boulis Memorial Day 5K helped me to move on. At some point in mile three, I caught up to an older gentleman who sounded like he was running a teeny bit. Continued pushing. I now regret that I sorta gave up, but I was happy with t...

http://maintainingsaidawesomeness.blogspot.com/p/faq.html
Why "Maintaining Said Awesomeness"? It started a long, long time ago. I'll claim it was on Facebook, but it's possible that it was on MySpace. I listed my interests as "Being awesome" and subsequently my hobbies as "Maintaining said awesomeness." Along came this guy into my life, who, lo and behold, listed the exact same interests and hobbies. So, you think you're awesome? Yes, I do. Like I said, I do everything as awesomely as I can. Why not? Why do something half-assed? I like to share and reflect....
