Monday, 26 July 2010. Making your own confetti is easy! So, the plan on Friday was to make my own confetti. And a single rose stem. Sadly all of our roses have finished flowering so I had to resort to the local florist and a stem that was on its way out. And look how it turned out - a bowl of crispy, pink confetti ready to be bagged and thrown. And all for £1.50.*. Remove the petals from your rose and place as many as you can, without them touching one another, on a piece of kitchen roll on a plate.

Friday, 8 May 2015. To those who protected, wherever they were, away or at home. My grandfather has kept a daily diary for more than 70 years. We came across his entry for that momentous week. He was in Wensleydale on duty when VE Day was announced, but had spent most of his time in the Middle East - in Egypt and a now unrecognisable Baghdad. He was the first person I knew to get online and I started this blog for him back in 2008. 9 May 2015 at 21:24. 31 May 2015 at 14:52. Seems he took it in his stride!
