Inspirational Running Stuff | The Road to Boston

The Road to Boston. If you ran without sacrifice, congratulations. You just jogged. Running hurts. It always has. Woolly mammoths didn’t just roll over onto a plate and serve themselves up to prehistoric man with fries and a shake. They had to be caught – and running down woolly mammoths was a bitch. Guess what? There is something beautiful about working so hard that you are reduced to silence next to your friends. Some friendships never get to the level where silence is comfortable, let alone produc...

Newer posts →. January 8, 2011 · 2:15 am. Sistah Scrambles and Salad Beasts. It was yet another enjoyable day on the West Coast, a little rainy to start but the sun came out for the end of the day. On the workout front, I got in a lovely 10km run on the sea wall and nearly lost my life at the hand of a crazy Pilates instructor during my last day of a week membership to Exhale Studio. However, I did enjoy the class. when it was over! Music to my ears, sistah! Spinach, onion, mushroom, brocc, egg whites, c...

It's finally summer in Vancouver! And Hot, Hot,. On that note.it's time to complain about it. I hate track work-outs.". Hard in the sun and heat. Traveling and Running Around the World. Thursday, July 22, 2010. Attempt at Food Blogging. My running work-outs this week were nothing too exciting. well I suppose watching Dave. Run along the seawall in a hula skirt was pretty entertaining. Sunday- Long Run- 18.55km. Monday- Recovery run through the UBC trails with Rachel. Easy on the knees. Tip from a former Olympic trial athlete:. Run strides (fast runs) at the end of a long run. Example: 5X 100. I wish I looked like this. So here is my attempt. I pil...

Traveling and Running Around the World. Sunday, July 18, 2010. Blame it on the A-A-A-Alcohol. Or the Calgary Stampede. Either one. (Just because I am in Vancouver doesn't mean I can't dress up like a cowgirl and drink.). Honesty time. Today's Summerfast 10km. Race was my punishment for a heavy night out. Why do I do this to myself? I woke up Saturday morning (thank you, Carolyn. With about 10 minutes to get ready before the taxi came to take Care. For taking pity on the poor hungover girl. Traveling and Running Around the World. Speed work at the Track. Clinic Run Night (easy run, hills or speed work). Rest more between for better results). Track Workout Pace Chart. I did not train. I think I maybe went for a couple 2 hour runs. I will post a Daegu marathon re-cap at some point but basically, I thought since I was a runner I could run a marathon. It is not that easy. I do not recommend this! It was really, really hard. I couldn't lift my feet off the ground! Each week consisted of a:.

Traveling and Running Around the World. Friday, July 9, 2010. I take it all back. Running in the morning is the way to go! Wednesday night's run was a KILLA. (Numerous walk breaks were taken, innocent people were exposed to my sweat showers, profanities were spoken. Thank you Carolyn. Went to Olympic trials! Sets of 8 minutes. After feeling the pressure from an energetic group of runners (shoutouts to Alan. Back at home in Vancouver, I finally have hopped on the blogwagon and started this running blog. I think this will help me stay motivated on marathon training and running during the cold winters ahead in Montreal. Which is a couple of weeks earlier than the Goodlife Toronto Marathon. Amelia Runs: Sunday, Monday
http://ameliaruns.blogspot.com/2010/07/sunday-monday.html
Traveling and Running Around the World. Monday, July 5, 2010. Sunday's Long Run was the second time I ran up Queen Elizabeth hill this week-I guess with the Queen visiting the country - it's only fitting I pay my respect my running "her" hill twice. This is where I hurt. I believe it is my left abductor. Someone fix me? The route was 16km. Long and average pace for Sunday's run was 5:23/km. Monday, I rook Keiran along one of my favorite routes. It's about a 10km. Is a good website to check out. Although ...

The Road to Boston '08. Follow me as I train for the 2008 Boston Marathon. Monday, April 28, 2008. Here are my thoughts the day after the race:. And I was very careful about regularly taking in fluid and gel. I had a few moments during the first 1/2 where I was a bit concerned about my stomach, and I even felt a bit "pukey" a couple of times, but the feeling went away easily enough so who knows what was going on. I felt MUCH better, so next time, I hit the tree when I get the opportunity! I felt like a r...

Back In The Saddle Again.literally! The journey back to the sport of Duathlon after a long 4 to 5 year layoff. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Running at 4:30 in the morning normally doesn't bring much excitement outside of trying to dodge a few dead animals at the last second but this morning when you hear footsteps behind you at that time of day it can make you speed up really quick!
