This time of year as the mercury begins to plummet, and the daylight starts to diminish, it becomes a challenge to find more activities indoors after the day is gone. The highlight of guiding with the float-plane this summer was being able to bring my son along with me on a trip to Twin Lakes to see and explore the famed cabin of Dick Proeneke. Dick built his cabin almost entirely with materials from the surrounding landscape, and built purely by hand. The weather was perfect and the fall colors were awesome. Hillside above Twin Lakes. Where we've been. Where we're going. February 08, 2012. No street lights and very few porch lights combined with an starless sky makes the night black, pitch black. When the sun sets at 3:40 in the afternoon and you get out of school at 3:15, sledding during daylight hours becomes limited. Jacob and Chandelle Cotter. Thursday, June 18, 2009. Walrus to me have always been one of the coolest animals there are around! Yesterday I went down to our Walrus area of the park and got to take a few pictures with them:). Getting my belly kisses by the big male walrus Sivuqaq. I want to blow one of these up and frame it in the nursery:). Another picture getting a kiss from the boy:) If anyone has ever seen 50 first dates this is "Jacko" the walrus from that movie! The most wonderful man in the world!
