Mrs. French: Iron Lighting
http://blog-mrsfrench.blogspot.com/2011/04/iron-lighting.html
I came across some absolutely stunning iron lighting at the French Market. And I immediately wanted to decorate a room around them. I thought the next best thing to actually getting to do it would be to put an inspiration board together. This is what I came with. A bit masculine, yet feels quite cozy. Of course a constant array of fresh flowers would add a much needed feminine touch. Below are a few more iron pieces that caught my eye. As always shipping is available. Monday, April 30, 2012. Have a great Monday! Posted by the industrial cottage. Friday, April 27, 2012. So here is my chair. I would like to use it in the boys room. I know that it is pretty feminine in the lines, but I really am trying to make their room more eclectic. I think I can make it work. I am in love with gray velveteen right now! What to do.What to do? I am leaning toward the wood color of the first picture with Grey tufted velvet. What do you think? Posted by the industrial cottage.

Restoring the Roost: June 2015
http://restoringtheroost.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. I thought I would share with you today some farm scenes I shot while in Martin County, North Carolina. I'm sure you all know how much of a sucker I am for old farmhouses and outbuildings :). A frame barn or pack house sits along the path to other farm outbuildings at the Bowen Farm. The Bowen Farm, whose main house is a frame "Triple-A" I-house with exterior end chimneys and a rear ell. An unidentified set of outbuildings sits at the back of a dilapidated farm complex. Even though...

Friday, October 10, 2014. Georgia Okeefe inspired aesthetic. I think most people associate Georgia O'Keefe with her flowers, but they only make up a portion of her work. I've been intrigued by her aesthetic ever since I was a pre-teen and visited New Mexico for the first time, where I fell in love with the landscape and the way that she presented the simultaneous warmth and spareness of its beauty. On the recommendation of the lovely Camille of the Vintique Object,. Credits: 1, 2: okeeffe museum. My Pati...

Monday, December 29, 2014. Local Family Room Refresh. I've picked up more local work. Lately which is really exciting. A family that we are friendly with in our neighborhood asked for my assistance with their family room. This family has great style and knows what they like, but just needed an extra set of eyes to guide them in their decision-making. And they are super motivated so there has been a lot of progress in the past few weeks. If you follow me on Instagram. The fireplace is getting a makeover a...
