More Bacon Than the Pan Can Handle: Where on Earth Have I Been??
http://morebaconthanthepancanhandle.blogspot.com/2014/05/where-on-earth-have-i-been.html
More Bacon Than the Pan Can Handle. Watch, learn, and don't eat my cookie. Where on Earth Have I Been? Sorry for the blogging failure, everyone. I sure have been missing in action for a while. So what has been going on in my life, you ask? Uh alas, nothing interesting. I have been working. My job is great. The people are tremendous, the work is cutting edge and compelling, and I get to do it all while living in the greatest city in the world. We had a long, dark, awful winter, but now it's over! Let me t...

View From An Empty Nest: November 2010
http://viewfromanemptynest.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
View From An Empty Nest. Monday, November 8, 2010. You see, for the last 15 or 20 minutes of nursery, they were doing bubbles and I was helping. At one point, I decided to make a wide arc of bubbles for the kids to chase. So I swung the wand in a big, wide swoop just as one of the nursery leaders walked past me from behind. I plastered her, hard, right in the face with my gloppy, goopy hand- clenched into a fist around the drippy bubble wand. Sure hope I don't see her sporting a shiner next week.

More Bacon Than the Pan Can Handle: The Heat is On
http://morebaconthanthepancanhandle.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-heat-is-on.html
More Bacon Than the Pan Can Handle. Watch, learn, and don't eat my cookie. The Heat is On. I finally got heat back in the middle of the night Friday. It took the weekend for my building to warm back up, but I'm relieved to no longer be so very very cold. I spent the cold days using hand warmers in gloves and socks, sitting on a heating pad, and then ultimately buying a space heater for a wintery day of working from home due to snow. Next adventure: finding a place in my apartment for the space heater!

More Bacon Than the Pan Can Handle: Cracking Myself Up
http://morebaconthanthepancanhandle.blogspot.com/2013/09/cracking-myself-up.html
More Bacon Than the Pan Can Handle. Watch, learn, and don't eat my cookie. When I'm really tired, sometimes as I'm falling asleep or just waking up, I think the most random things. I often write them down because I somehow have the presence of mind to know that I'll find them funny later, even though I don't find them funny at that moment. Some recent funny things I've thought during this time:. Counting to one in Russian is the same as counting to one in Picard.". I love counting in Picard! He isn't so ...

More Bacon Than the Pan Can Handle: Working for/on the Weekend
http://morebaconthanthepancanhandle.blogspot.com/2014/01/working-foron-weekend.html
More Bacon Than the Pan Can Handle. Watch, learn, and don't eat my cookie. Working for/on the Weekend. It's sort of like teaching someone how to swim by throwing them in a pool and hoping they don't drown. I have stayed afloat so far. Mostly I work during the weeks and don't work on the weekends, but this week, I didn't get the weekend to rest- I have a bunch of work to do. Unfortunately, I'm also completely exhausted and must now take a nap. Gonna have to work later. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

View From An Empty Nest: December 2009
http://viewfromanemptynest.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
View From An Empty Nest. Sunday, December 6, 2009. Yesterday was a certain boy’s birthday. He started the day with waffles before he went to a holiday show with jugglers, acrobats and trained pigs. After lunch we had birthday singing, presents, cake and ice cream. Moo had the first taste of the Lightening McQueen cake. After cake and ice cream we went to the village market for a free horse-and-carriage ride and then back home for resting time. Saturday, December 5, 2009. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

View From An Empty Nest: October 2010
http://viewfromanemptynest.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
View From An Empty Nest. Wednesday, October 13, 2010. How high are the mountains, how wide is the sky, how narrow are the lanes? Another western thing is our love is our cars and given a lower population density we glory in our roomy freeways. But, not so much right now in our town. They are rebuilding 25 miles of freeway and by my calculation my exit is right in the middle of the project. Sunday, October 10, 2010. Walking- It isn’t just for fun any more. I don’t remember when I started to walk....

http://viewfromanemptynest.blogspot.com/2012/01/aloha-2012_7258.html
View From An Empty Nest. Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Back on the road, we headed for Volcanoes National Park. And then it happened! What, you say? Well, we finally got to see our very first, in the wild Nene. Actually four of them, just hanging out at the side of the road, browsing in the grasses there. The Nene is the State bird of Hawaii, and is an endangered bird. Somebody's Father wisely asked, "Should I turn around and go back? Not one of the ones we bought, but pretty! Looks like an awesome day.
