My Daughter’s Nightstand. February 12, 2015. I finished the wood with fourteen thousand coats of milk paint, sanding between each one. The milk paint, in cream color, was top-coated with Danish oil finish because milk paint’s rough finish can stain easily. The green glass knobs came from a collection of my grandfather’s. Countertop made from recycled glass bottles, with an understated backsplash. Extra storage and counter space, and a new “corner storage system” for kids’ shoes, coats, backpacks, and gloves/hats. Weaving the Fabric of Life. I started to write a post. On Thursday, I was shoehorning that writing into a busy morning. There were lots of other things I needed to be doing. So I downed tools and stopped. My life is all about slow living but at the moment it feels so far removed from that as I try to keep many balls in the air. I will miss you all.
