I could have sworn I never did either of those things. Why the complicated cast-on? Why not just cast on 7 stitches and start knitting? Are there written directions for the chart? No I much prefer to use a chart when knitting lace (or cables, for that matter). It's much easier for me to see how the knitting is supposed to line up. A few weeks ago I was pottering around the ol' stash (yes, it's a geographical location) and came across one of the rarer skeins of yarn a knitter. Will ever come close to leaving the empty fetal-position inducing DTs that Classic Elite Skye Tweed. To celebrate my reunion with this yarn I knit a hat. Specs: Snowtracks Cap by Timothy Peters. Meh. Wednesday, August 27, 2014. When I spotted Maritza's. I instantly clicked the buy button. The pattern, along with a pile of orange, pink, yellow and neutral fabrics, turned into Nicke's. Paper piecing is so fun and gratifying, and I especially loved piecing this, with alternating neutral and bright fabrics. Lots of favorites in this one! I added more hearts on the back, because why not? I used my very favorite zipper, ( tutorial is here. Although I now install it with glue instead of the fusible tape.
