Chasing the Black Line to Ironman: Injuries
http://gashsam-chasingtheblacklinetoironman.blogspot.com/p/injuries.html
Chasing the Black Line to Ironman. Sooooo, I have a collected a list of injuries over the years. Probably 5 pages worth lol. But here are the popular ones. I have rolled my right ankle x 3 times. This means that my right ankle is more flexible than my left. So I have to stretch the left calf so much more. The ever favourite.illiotibial band, I.T. B. Started on the right side, rolled and physio and eventually a cortisone shot. Then once the right was sorted, the left. Hopefully alleviate the problem.

Chasing the Black Line to Ironman: The injured athlete - take it from me..........

Chasing the Black Line to Ironman. Monday, July 27, 2015. The injured athlete - take it from me. Year after year, season after season, I have been defined, destroyed and strengthened by 2 x cranky Iliotibial Bands (itb). Every morning I would wake up wondering if I could run pain free. I went to bed hoping that tomorrow I would be in less pain. I wished for the day that I could run without pain. Yep that was many years ago. I didn't want to be around anyone who was an athlete and I cried a lot. I did eve...

Finding a happy thought. We had a good night. Went out for dinner and followed it up with a little something sweet. I have to say, I didn't enjoy it and didn't finish the dessert. I am so pleased that I have met this challenge and beaten it. I am no longer a sugar-holic team! Sunday, July 12, 2015. I am Sam, Sam I am!

Chasing the Black Line to Ironman. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. One step forward, three steps flying backwards. Sis, Bro and Big Gazza. Trading Roadie for Fat tyres and bike paths. We then hit the big smoke once again for some shopping. I found some ASIC DS shoes in hot pink. Woot woot, I hope they work and go fast. A couple of nice deals on a jacket and some tops. We had a nice meal at a Tapas bar before an early night and Ironman the next day. The swim course follows along Frankston Pier. Another fantastic...

Wednesday, July 01, 2015. New "tower" approach to organizing work TBR in bedroom (I think best lying in bed! I have another one of these in a box waiting to be assembled. But it must be said that the screwholes were so badly bored that the person helping me assemble the first one had to take the pieces to the hardware store and get them to help her ream them out so that the screws would actually go through! Next to the circle of lead on my table is the land of bismuth: naturally occurring bismuth from Australia; little limousine-shaped ingots of bismuth from a mine in Bolivia; bismuth slowly cooled from a melt to form beautiful iridescent crystals terraced like a Hopi village; and, in a nod to Euclid and the beauty of geometry, a cylinder and a sphere made of bismuth. Friday, July 31, 2015. I have taken a long time to get around to writing this up, partly I think out of reluctance to contemplate the whole question but also partly because it's much more troublesome to write a blog post with lots of links than to paste in simple text! But it is overdue, I need to send the link to a few people and here goes: these are some of the words I said for my father at the memorial we held at Penn in April. First, some words a few friends of his sent via email. In high school, whe...
