Fuggled: The Session #99 - Roundup
http://www.fuggled.net/2015/05/the-session-99-roundup.html
Drink Responsibly, Don't Spill. Saturday, May 9, 2015. The Session #99 - Roundup. Well, that was the Session that was, and this is the round up that is. The theme for Session #99 was on localising mild, and we got an interesting array of responses. Over in Ireland, The Beer Nut. Got 'historically pedantic' and pointed out that most modern beer would be considered 'mild' due to the focus on freshness. Staying in Ireland, The Drunken Destrier. Meanwhile, my good friend Reuben of The Tale of the Ale. Stan H...

The beer is tentatively called 'Mild Mannered Merican' and is as follows:. 66% US 2 Row Pale malt. 10 IBU Calypso hops for 60 minutes. Beer and Pub Pics.

Fuggled: In Pursuit of Impartiality
http://www.fuggled.net/2015/06/in-pursuit-of-impartiality.html
Drink Responsibly, Don't Spill. Monday, June 22, 2015. In Pursuit of Impartiality. Anyway, this has been pottering around in my head a bit of late, so I decided to buy a single can of classic Budweiser, try and remove my blinkers and actually evaluate the beer as a beer rather than a monolithic straw man for the little guys to denounce as the source of all zythophilic evil. So here goes. Taste - 1.5/5. Posted by Alistair Reece. June 22, 2015 at 10:57 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). El Segundo Bre...

Fuggled: Dark Island Brewing
http://www.fuggled.net/p/dark-island-brewing.html
Drink Responsibly, Don't Spill. At present Dark Island Brewing beer can only be found, in very limited amounts, in my kegerator, occasionally in growlers at friends' parties, and from time to time at work events. Dark Island Brewing currently has the following packaged beers:. Dark Island Brewing is named for the island I grew up on, Benbecula, in the Outer Hebrides, and also the hotel on the island where I had my first, legal, pint. 2010 Virginia Beer Blitz. 2010 Palmetto State Brewers Open. Drink Responsibly, Don't Spill. Saturday, January 31, 2015. IHP2015 Double Stout Fun. The masses have spoken.well, 16 of them. This year's International Homebrew Project returns to the Truman Brewery, but this time to their London location, to brew their Double Stout recipe from 1860. The grain bill is is fairly simple:. 81% Pale 2 row malt. The hop selection likewise is simplicity itself, just Goldings, but lots of them. 130 IBUs worth to be precise. 52 IBU for 90 minutes. 49 IBU for 60 minutes. Admitte...

Fuggled: Just a few women and their beer in the heart of Canada’s capital - Guest Post
http://www.fuggled.net/2012/03/just-few-women-and-their-beer-in-heart.html
Drink Responsibly, Don't Spill. Friday, March 23, 2012. Just a few women and their beer in the heart of Canada’s capital - Guest Post. Today I am very happy to have a guest post from Renée Francoeur, someone that I "met" (you know what I mean) through the good graces of Twitter. There are some more details about her after the post, so I will duck out without further ado! This is a toast to Ninkasi, the ancient Sumerian goddess of beer. But I should have known the artistic, microbrewed family of the golde...

http://www.fuggled.net/2015/08/guest-post-summer-nights-drinking-with.html
Drink Responsibly, Don't Spill. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Guest Post: Summer Nights Drinking with Steady Flames. It's been a while since I had a guest post on Fuggled, and we have a returning writer here today, Renée Francoeur. Rather than witter on myself, here's Renée. 8220;I hope it’s been established I’d be the one to survive in the wild,” Cristina (the one with the lily pad flower in her hair) said, pushing us to shore with her rather impressive twig. Sabrina and I dipped our hands further and attem...

Fuggled: February 2015
http://www.fuggled.net/2015_02_01_archive.html
Drink Responsibly, Don't Spill. Tuesday, February 17, 2015. My first, and so far only, paid job in the beer world was working in the Starr Hill tasting room. As is obvious from the previous sentence, that is something that is now in the past. After five and half years of serving flights, pouring pints, giving tours, and being the 'gregarious Scotsman with a wry wit', I left Starr Hill back in December. The reason? Mark was also gracious enough to do my Brewer of the Week. Posted by Alistair Reece. Milds ...
