Weimaraner Chronicles
Monday, July 02, 2007. Pat, the doggies, and I hit the trails this past weekend, and what a beautiful weekend it was. Aside from a couple porcupine quills (ahem. Lincoln) and a sprained ankle (me) a good time was had by all. We hiked in the Dry River trail about 5 miles to the junction with the Isolation Trail and found a great established camp site. Once we set up camp, we discovered that Luna REALLY liked the tent! The doggies were quite exhausted and made themselves right at home! Is that Cesar Millan?
The View from New Hampshire
Monday, July 23, 2007. Here's an itinerary of what we did. I'll post some trip reports in the hiking section when I get a chance. In the meantime, you can look through some of our photos. Arrived in Denver, escorted by Uncle David to Boulder and Flatirons, then to Leadville (highest city in US at 10,200ft), to Camp Hale (site of 10th Mountain Division), and eventually to Glenwood Springs where we took a brief tour of the Hotel Colorado. Guided by Uncle David and Liza. Hot Springs Pool in Glenwood Springs.

I went on a 30-day NOLS North Cascades Mountaineering course during the summer of 2003. I was active in the NHOC at the University of New Hampshire while I was there. The des...

A View From the Norm | wit, wisdoms, wonderings & writing from a common man
A View From the Norm. Wit, wisdoms, wonderings and writing from a common man. After all these years I can sleep now. Like my favorite poem (Reflections on Ice Breaking by Ogden Nash) this will be short. I feel sadness and that a long sense of doubt was lifted today – Mark McGwire admitted to using Steroids. Should Crashers be Prosecuted? Cue Jeopardy theme please…What is the Secret Service? Here’s the story. On ABC’s Good Morning America. What do you think? Should they be prosecuted? I’ve been to V...

A fine WordPress.com site. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Palmers Green to The Shard (London Bridge). August 26, 2013. A straightforward walk from my home in Palmers Green to The Shard, on the other side of London Bridge. A warm if overcast day I was glad to be out in the open air. A good way to walk off the stiffness of 7 hours in the car the previous day. I continue south towards Alexandra Palace via a sliver of greenery known as Avenue Gardens. As I see Alexandra Palace in fro...
