Lovely tits :) | Walking the cat

She talks to trees, she talks to rainbows, talks to the seas …. What kind of tit did *you* expect? Last Sunday, before the snow. It was looking very springlike in the garden. And, to my great joy, our famous nesting box. Got new tenants. The husband managed to take some photos through the kitchen window:. In Easter egg on sticks mode. We lost no time and put up the spikey things we bought after this episode. This entry was posted in Birds. Have a great vacation🙂. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The Squirrel...

She talks to trees, she talks to rainbows, talks to the seas …. General wildlife update →. We have never had goldfinches in the garden before, but now there are at least four. I hope they’ll stick around as I adore the colours. A goldfinch is a “Stieglitz” in German which is supposedly what their call sounds like. I have yet to hear it — so far they seem too busy stuffing their faces to do much calling. Hungry birds. The tits. Will just have to share. This entry was posted in Birds. And tagged bird feeder.

Language mystery: The (almost) speechless translator
http://language-mystery.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-almost-speechless-translator.html
A translator explores the miracle of language. Wednesday, 21 May 2014. The (almost) speechless translator. It is estimated that there are over 7,000 languages in the world. As a translator, this brings me down to earth. I can communicate. On my latest international holiday earlier this month, I was intrigued by this road sign, and I still don’t know what the author wants me to do:. I also found it challenging to cope with this parking ticket machine in Jerusalem:. A special curiosity was this clock in th...

Montag, 10. Februar 2014.

An Experimental Pilgrim’s Guide to the Camino de Santiago. How To Keep Your FiveFingers From Smelling Like A Gangrenous Skunk. October 18, 2010. As I have said before. I highly recommend FiveFingers. As a hiking option on the Camino. But leaving it at that is like recommending a dog as a good fetching/cuddling option – it completely ignores the high level of required maintenance behind said fetching/cuddling technology. Even post-washing, Steph can't stand the smell. The research began when I returned ho...

Life in Suburbia (Let's take a ride and walk with the cats tonight). It has taken almost two years since this post. Not quite in our neighbourhood but on a motorbike outing the other day (and still within city limits), we saw a deer happily munching on some leaves before gracefully bounding off. Plus, the husband has packed our diving boxes and we will be off bothering some fish in a new-to-us lake the weekend after next. Hungry birds. The tits. Will just have to share. Walking The Circle Home. On the path, gone walkabout. October 14th, 2008 by admin. Here’s an interesting challenge: find actions, thoughts and feelings today where you can apply the 80/20 rule. My favorite way of applying this right now is to be less critical. Here’s how that works for me. When I have a negative thought, I stop and apply the 80/20 rule. More about that…. Walking the Coast of Great Britain – with Alan Palin
Walking the Coast of Great Britain. 152 Lochgoilhead to Dunoon. Todays walk was to be predominantly along roads, off-road footpaths and forest tracks keeping to the lochside for virtually all of the route. My plan was to get to at least Ardentinny, when I would then have the choice of completing the journey back to Dunoon by bus. In the end I made it all the way to Dunoon on foot, even if it did mean finishing in the dark. Looking north up Loch Goil to Ben Donich. Submarine in tow up Loch Long. Church...
