La Sportiva Stratos, size 27, not as new as picture, gaiter is torn, they have been cracked and repaired but are still light and look reasonably new, $600. Saturday, June 30, 2012. Mt Rainier Speed Run (on skis), 5:00.57. We pulled into Ashford Thursday evening and packed up for the next day. With the unsettled forecast we discussed hauling up extra safety measures. Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Mt Hood Speed Attempt. When we got to Timberline Lodge it was 3PM, 70 degrees and sunny. The snow was a slushy mess. Not quite what I was hoping for but figured I'd give it a go. The first 2800' are in the resort and although the snow was slushy it was reasonably compacted and skinned pretty well. Sunday, March 31, 2013. Elk Mountain Grand Traverse - Race recap. Dominique, Tom's GF, drove Tom, Teague, Andy and I down to the start of the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse in Crested Butte last Thursday. We all had big hopes of representing SLC well and placing high. The start, All photos by Dominique Maack. Teague/Brad held on for second, and Andy and I held on for third. The teams in our car swept the race! Thursday, July 19, 2012. Last year I time trialed the Pfeifferhorn and thought I came away with a fastest known time (FKT). Turns our faster times were known. I ran a time of 1:07 from the White Pine parking lot to the summit but Karl Meltzer had run 1:06:10, I just didn't know that. When I heard this I figured I better go up there and give it another go.
