There is no sign for the Hobbit Trail on Hwy 101, but I read that it was near Heceta Head Lighthouse, so I stopped there and asked a Ranger. Just the name and a little imagination is all it takes to make this a whimsical, intriguing trail. Limbs covered with moss. A few Hobbit-sized steps lead down to the beach.

Hosmer Lake, Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, Oregon. Only paddles and fish jumping break the water's surface at Hosmer Lake. I arrived early with the fly fishermen and a few other paddlers. The air was cool and still. Do you see the ducks? It's a female Ring-necked duck and ducklings. This seems to be the time of year for ducklings here in the mountain lakes.

Canyon de Chelly National Monument is comprised of a labyrinth of several canyons that include two main ones: Canyon de Chelly and Canyon del Muerto. My first day there I drove the north rim which overlooks Canyon del Muerto. This pathway on the rim leads to an overlook. Some colorful desert plants that grow on the rim. The "trail" across the rim.

The poor AC in the Alfa was struggling and barely keeping it live able in here. Usually it shuts off during the evening but ran way into the night last night. Monday, August 31, 2015. Talked to mover - furniture might be here soon. It is finally starting to cool down here some. Barely over 100 - well 102- but that’s better than 112. And nights it is getting into the low 80's. By next week it will be high of 99! And lows of 74/75. Bill is still going out into the garage every morning to get it set up. He works out there until it gets too hot. But I think he is almost finished. Then what is he going to do? The cabinet is done and standing in the dining area.

There are a couple in the same vain around town but I usually don’t have the camera out. The garage floor was patched. All the flooring was done in the living room, kitchen and small room. Saturday, January 31, 2015. Our 188 mile trip to here. Had some heavy rain and lots of thunder yesterday afternoon. And dark sky behind us – north – and rolls of thunder this morning. Supposed to get heavy rain again in a while and last off and on till Tuesday. At least it has cooled down to the mid 70s but still HUMID! Only went as far as where they are building a new wharf. It happens to be right where the new Autopista from. To San Blas will end. Road is doing for. Some serious building going on.
