Nan was still traveling with me and we headed along the Gulf coast with a 2-day stop at St. Andrews State Park in Panama City. We attended church on Sunday with Nan's daughter, Sybil. This church does a wonderful Christian work, providing housing for several otherwise homeless women in the community.

I spent the month of July at Canoe River Campground a few miles from my sister's house. It is a nice family campground with a lot of seasonals, and loads of kids. The small pond is home to this family of swans, and several clans of geese and ducks. I enjoyed watching the (baby) cygnet grow while I was here. Borderland State Park has an interesting history too.

Santa Elena Canyon is on the other side of the park from the campground, and you get there by taking the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive which highlights geological formations and history. I drove the Interstates today, and those who know me know that's something I rarely do. But traffic was light, the skies were blue, and wildflowers were strewn along the roadside.
