Close to a year back, I had some super yummy Rajma cooked by a dear friend at a farewell dinner. Try this and tell me if you agree. Rajma 1 katori, soaked overnight, boiled with pinch of turmeric. Rajma being hard beans need at least 30 mins pressure. Onion 2 large , first boil them in water n then purée them. Tomatoes 3 large, first boil them in water then purée them.

Had it not been for a discussion on the preparation she would be sending to school as part of a project about teaching kids about foods made out of wheat, my palate would have been deprived of this delectable snack. Radish Roti with Jhunka. 2 medium sized radish. 2 green chillies finely chopped. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder. 1 tsp freshly roasted jeera powder. 1/4 tsp freshly roasted ajwain powder. Wheat flour 400 gms. Jhunka (popularly called pitla). 1 large onion finely chopped. 2 small tomatoes finely chopped. 2 green chillies finely chopped. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder. Simple and tasty Griddle cakes/ Pancakes. 1 cup flour (alternately reduce the flour and add some boiled grated potato). Half teaspoon baking soda (optional). Beat egg in a bowl, add the milk. Mix well. Add flour grated potato. For added flavour - salt, pepper, some herbs - oregano, basil. Mix well. Heat a spoonful of oil on a tawa, add 2 tbsp of batter spread it a little. Allow to cook.
