I was a teenage Hefner fan and am looking forward to the release of singer Darren Hayman’s new project: setting the lyrics of William Morris’ pamphlet ‘Chants for Socialists’ to music. The clip above shows how enmeshed this album is with Morris’ legacy: recording vocals at Kelmscott House. No one taught her to do that. We attend a Southern Baptist church where some people raise their hands, but most of us don't. We stand up during worship services, we sing the songs, but we never do what I caught Ladybug doing and have caught her doing a few times since then. Why is that? In college, it was not only acceptable.
